The Y is a powerful association of men, women and children joined together by a shared commitment to nurturing the potential of kids, promoting healthy living and fostering a sense of social responsibility. We believe that lasting personal and social change can only come about when we all work together to invest in kids, our health and our neighbors. That’s why strengthening community is our cause. Every day, we work side by side with our neighbors in our communities to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive. Congratulations to tonight’s honorees and thank you for all that you do in your schools and communities. We recognize each of you for your personal and ath- letic achievements, and for instilling in each other a collective sense of what is right and what is good. These are values that you have learned while competing in sports, and values by which you have chosen to live. Thank you to the members of the Sports Award Committee for their hard work and dedication in putting this event together. It is truly one of Bergen County’s premier events.
