He was named the interim head coach of the Saints for the final two games of the 2018 cam- paign while also serving as the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. During Turk’s second full year with the Blue and Gold, Limestone finished second in the South Atlantic Conference with 219.8 passing yards per game while starting quarterback DJ Phillips led the league with 227 yards per game through the air. Phillips also ranked in the top-5 of the SAC in touchdown passes. In his first season with the Saints, he helped guide the team to a 4-6 overall mark and a 3-4 showing in the program’s first year in the South Atlantic Conference. Turk mentored a Lime- stone rushing attack that averaged 133.3 yards per game while Jerko’ya Patton was named the 2017 SAC Offensive Freshman of the Year with 907 rushing yards during his rookie season. Turk joined the Blue and Gold after spending nine years at Carolina where he worked his way up through the ranks. He started as a student manager, then as an offensive intern and quarterbacks coach for Steve Spurrier, and eventually was named the assistant director of recruiting on Will Muschamp’s staff. During his time on Muschamp’s staff, Turk was responsible for all offensive recruiting and his efforts helped the Game- cocks land back-to-back top-20 recruiting classes. Among his many duties, he identified and scouted high school and junior college players and assisted with all on-campus recruiting activities. Prior to his recruiting responsibilities, he spent four seasons as a graduate assistant coach and offensive analyst on Spurrier’s staff. Turk worked with the quarterbacks, including Connor Shaw and Dylan Thompson – both of whom threw for over 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns
