Belth and used with permission © Stone Head Conservancy 2019 Stone Head Nature Preserve is a 122-acre, privately- owned nature preserve nestled in the beautiful hills of Brown County in south-central Indiana. The preserve is open to the public from dawn to dusk 365 days a year. The Preserve contains four basic habitat types, all with Least Skipper maintained trails. These include an area of six restored wet- land impoundments, known as the Zimmerman Wetland Bird Habitat, a riparian corridor along the Middle Fork Fiery Skipper of Salt Creek, (one of the three major sources of water for Lake Monroe, located about 8 miles downstream), two Little Glassywing large meadows—one near Bellsville Pike and the other immediately south of Salt Creek—and finally, roughly 90 Grass Skippers: Subfamily Hesperiinae Eastern Tiger acres of mid-successional to mature woodlands.
