Creating a Favicon for Your ESP Website to Upload a Favicon, You

Creating a Favicon for your ESP Website To upload a favicon, you first must create one from an image. If you do not have your own application, you can use a free favicon generator, such as the one available on: http://www.favicongenerator.com/ . After creating the favicon, you need to upload the image to the media library. However, generated favicon image typically end with .ico and the Media Library will need a .JPG or .PNG. To change the image’s file extension, you can open MS Paint (a program included on all Windows PCs). To access MS Paint, click on Start, then Programs, then Accessories and lastly, click on Paint. In MS Paint, use the Save As option. Use the file type dropdown and select .PNG or .JPG. Then, upload the image into the Media Library. Right click onto the image once it is uploaded to get its URL and copy. Next, go to the "content library", also in the Features menu, and click the "add new content" button. A blank content area will open. Click the "HTML" button at the bottom of the window so you can input the following code: <link re;="icon" href="shortcuhttp:// commonmedia.asicentral.com /90000/97808/favicon.jpgt" type="image/x-icon" /> <link rel="icon" href="http:// commonmedia.asicentral.com /90000/97808/favicon.jpg" type="image/x-icon" /> You will be replacing both commonmedia.asicentral.com links with the URL that you will get from the image after it is uploaded to the media library. Everything else will remain the same. Immediately to the right is the "Properties" Window that you will need to also complete and save. There are two required fields: Title and Release Date. Make the title something easily recognizable, like “Favicon Code” or “Favicon Info”. Then, put today’s date as the Release date and click on the Save Properties button. Once this is saved, click on the "Design Studio" menu then Advanced Design/Manage Pages. Click the "Edit Page" tab and select "home" from the drop down menu: From the modules on the left, drag a text module to the "header" section of the page and click "settings". Make sure that the module is set to Global. Select the content that was created in the Content Library and save then publish your site. A quick note regarding the favicons in how it renders in the browsers: The favicon will not be visible in Internet Explorer due its technical limitations; it will however be visible in all other browsers (Firefox, Chrome, Safari). .
