Residential Area Descriptions For 2009-2010 Residential Areas Each residential area is different and we want you to be comfortable living and working in an environment that you specify. Below are brief descriptions of the 6 different areas. If you have further questions about the areas, please contact Sheila Coressel, Assistant Director, at [email protected] or 650-4629. Cougar Village Sophomores and older are allowed to live in Cougar Village. Each apartment has 3-4 residents, Singles: depending on the size of apartment. There are 8 apartments in each building. Each RA is responsible for 1-2 buildings. You are able to choose your roommates. Cougar Village RAs are not required to have a meal plan. Cougar Village Family Housing consists of married students and single students with children. There are a total of Families: 14 family housing buildings. Each apartment has 1 family. Each RA is responsible for 2-3 buildings. You will live in a family-housing apartment with either your family or roommates. Cougar Village RAs are not required to have a meal plan. Bluff Hall: Freshmen students live in Bluff. Bluff is home to the Focused Interest Communities (FICs). There is one FIC for on each wing, 11 in total. Each RA is responsible for a wing (32-48 residents). Bluff RAs are required to purchase a meal plan. See reverse side for more information on the FICs. Evergreen Hall: Sophomores and older are allowed to live in Evergreen Hall. Evergreen contains 4 & 6-person suites and apartments, as well as single rooms with a small kitchenette. Each RA is responsible for an area (32-48 residents). Evergreen RAs are not required to have a meal plan. Additionally, Evergreen will house the Second Year Experience Program. See the reverse side for more information on the Second Year Experience. Prairie Hall: Freshmen students live in Prairie. Prairie is home of the Horizons program, a Freshman Year Experience Program. Each RA is responsible for a wing (32-48 residents). Prairie RAs are required to purchase a meal plan. See reverse side for more information on the Horizons program. There is a possibility that there will be a wing of upper-class students in Prairie. Woodland Hall: Freshmen students live in Woodland. Woodland is home of the Students Improving Society (SIS) program. Each RA is responsible for a wing (32-48 residents). Woodland RAs are required to purchase a meal plan. See reverse side for more information on the SIS program. There is a possibility that there will be a wing of upper-class students in Woodland. .
