I have thought for a long time that extremism is more of a problem than a solution. Since fundamentalism is a manifestation of extreme belief, especially in religion, this holds true for the various sects in almost all religious persuasions. The author is clearly very well-educated and very credible in his sources when backing up his arguments. The book is a bit difficult to read at some points but that's neither here nor there. This I really enjoyed this book. This is undoubtedly a very well put together piece of work and I am looking forward to reading Ruthven's other work.
