GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT AREA Perinadu and Athikkayam are two adjacent Villages in Ranni Taluk of Pathanamthitta district in Kerala state, which belongs to the part of Perinadu Panchayath and Naranamoozhy Panchayath. Perinadu and Naranamoozhy Panchayaths are about 20 to 30 km North-east from the district head quarters, Pathanamthitta. 2. GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE PROJECT Following are the general scope of the work The renovation of source/intake by a) Construction of Raw water collection chamber and laying leading pipes to river. b) Necessary Protection works for demolishing & reconstruction of pump house over the raw water well. c) Demolishing of Existing Pump House including floor slab over the raw water well. d) Construction of new Pump House including floor slab as per drawing e) Maintenance of Foot Bridge f) Construction of Transformer Room of minimum inside size 36Sq.meter as per IE Rules suitable for the installation of 400KVA Transformer and accessories. g) Construction of temporary Pump house near Intake Pump House for providing the accessories of temporary pumping arrangement during the construction period. h) Cleaning the intake well after completing the construction works 2 Temporary pumping arrangements a. Construction of temporary Pump house near the Intake Pump House b. Supply and installation of 2 nos. Submersible pumpset and accessories having discharge of 30lps against a head of 115 mtr for pumping to WTP from intake pump house Laying GI pumping mains from Intake well and interconnection with the raw water pumping mains 3. Supply and installation of 400 KVA Indoor Dry Type Transformer and all accessories in the newly constructed transformer room. 4. Supply Erection and commissioning of 3 nos raw water pump sets having combined b discharge of 2 pumpsets is 97 lps against a head of 114 mtr for pumping to WTP from intake pump house at newly constructed Intake Pump House.1 pumpset as standby. 5. Construction of 2.8 LL GLSR and Pump House with compound wall at 3 of 54 Pancharamukku 6. Construction of 0.6 LL GLSR with compound wall at Chembanmudi 7. Supply Erection and commissioning of centrifugal pump sets a) Supply Erection and commissioning of 2 nos. of centrifugal pump sets at clear water pump house of WTP for pumping clear water to Kottupara tank (Discharge 25 lps, head (98 mtr), b) Supply Erection and commissioning of 2 nos. of centrifugal pump sets at clear water pump house of WTP for pumping clear water to Edappramala booster sump cum pump house (Discharge 10 lps, head 101 mtr), c )Supply Erection and commissioning of 2 nos. of centrifugal pump sets at Edappramala booster sump cum pump house for pumping clear water to Edappramala top GLSR (Discharge 10 lps, head83mtr), 3. SPECIFIC SCOPE OF THE WORK The above project includes the execution of the below described items of work as per the standard specifications and directions from the Departmental Officers. 3.1. CONSTRUCTION OF COLLECTION CHAMBER AND LAYING LEADING PIPES This work includes putting up of ring bund around the river side of the pump house for preventing/protection entering of water during the construction of collection water chamber and laying of HDPE leading having necessary size. In order to carry out the work of collection chamber of inside size 3.50 x 3.0 m x 9.2m where the top of the chamber comes 4.00mtr below the floor level of pump house and laying leading pipes the following works are to be done, necessary earthwork excavation, shoring the sides of trenches, bailing out water, submitting and getting the approval of design of collection chamber from the tendering authority, providing holes on the side wall of the pump house for connecting collection chamber and well, construction of collection chamber as per the approved design. Supplying and Laying 250 mm HDPE (PE 80, PN 6), 3 Nos. 20 m lengths for each as leading pipe for collecting water from the river into the collection chamber, Supply and fixing 3 Nos 300mm CI Sluice shutter/valve inside the collection chamber with operating arrangement from top of the collection chamber for controlling water flow. CI wall casting pipes, bends & specials shall be provided in the well steining if required to lead the water from the collecting chamber into the well. The leading pipes shall be properly anchored and supported on RCC blocks. The 4 of 54 mouth portion of the leading pipes shall be properly covered with Stainless steel gratings etc to prevent the entry of foreign matters in water. The contractor shall arrange the work in such a manner that it may not interrupt the temporary pumping that shall be arranged under the scope of this work. 3.2 PROTECTION WORK PREVENTING FALLING OF DEBRIS This work includes providing Temporary shelter/platform for preventing the falls of debris in the Intake Well by providing GI/MS PIPES OR MS ANGLES –CHANELS STRUCTURES AND WOODEN PLANKS OF SUITABLE SIZE BELOW THE FLOOR SLAB 3.3. DEMOLISHING OF EXISTING PUMP HOUSE over the intake well. This work includes carefully dismantling and removing the existing VT pump sets, panel boards, cable, delivery mains etc in the pump house, conveying and stacking carefully without damaging them to a convenient place in the newly constructed WTP at Bethany mala. Demolishing the damaged pump house including RCC roof slab,, brick wall ,floor slab, floor beams, walk way etc. and clearing the debris within a distance of 150 m, stacking useful materials etc. complete. During demolishing utmost care shall be taken so as not to damage the foot bridge 3.4. CONSTRUCTION OF NEW PUMP HOUSE The work includes the preparation and submission of design, construction after getting approval of a pump house over existing well steining. The scope of work includes; i. Pump house with two side rooms (3.00 x 3.00 m inside) over hanging both sides shall be constructed over the well.. The height of the side room is 3.60 m and height of the pump house is 5.00 m. Floor slab shall have a minimum thickness of the floor slab of pump house is 30 cm and roof slab have minimum thickness of 12 cm,2 Nos. floor beam of size 45 cm x 70 cm and cross beams of size at least 30 cm x 45 cm shall be provided ii. The pump house wall shall be constructed with standard solid block masonry in cement mortar 1:5 by using precast concrete solid blocks, exposed surface of all structures including compound wall has to be plastered with cement mortar 1:4 and concrete surface with CM 1:3.. etc. complete. iii. Providing circular gantry crane arrangements with 5T capacity with three dimensional movement shall be provided for lifting/erection of pumpsets. 5 of 54 iv. Required nos of RCC columns and girder beams of sufficient size has to be provided from the floor of pump house to the roof slab. The side wall, floor beams and slab should have the capacity to withstand the vibrations of higher capacity high speed pump sets. v. This work includes the supply and fitting of 1 no. rolling shutter of size 2 x 2.4m, 1 no paneled door with Anjily wood frame and Jackwood shutter for entering the backside of the walkway, 4 Nos. UPVC glazed windows with 12mm MS rods spaced @10 cm c/c for safety bars shall be provided. vi. Walk way having width of 1 m and minimum 12 cm thick outside the pump house all round –front side and back side with hand rail having 90 cm height with suitable size SS/GI pipe, vertical supports etc. complete shall be provided. The projection of sunshade shall be 1.20 m all round. vii. Cement plastered surface shall be painted with 2 coat, water proof paint of best quality over one coat priming coat etc. complete. The doors shall be painted with 2 coat synthetic enamel paint of suitable colour over one coat priming coat and window grills, rolling shutter etc. should also be given a protective coating two coats over a priming coat as per the direction of engineer in charge. viii. This work includes Pump house wiring, including supplying & fixing 8 Nos of LED tube light, 2 Nos. of fan, 2 plug point etc. as per the direction of departmental officers. These electrical items and installations should be of approved brand and manufacturer. ix. The contractor shall carried out all the interconnection works with already laid raw water pumping main as per the directions of departmental officers. x. Maintaining the components supplied installed and constructed in a well manner is a part of this contract during the maintenance period from the date of commissioning of the scheme in a satisfactory Manner acceptable to the Executive Engineer in accordance with Clause 8.24 Vol.I. xi. Handing over all the components supplied installed and constructed under this contract to Kerala Water Authority with necessary documents and list of items after completing the works to the store/site in accordance with Clause 8.26 Vol. I.
