GABBERT, Corwin Leon Gabbert (Abstracted from the Herald Tribune from May 30 to May 31, 2014) Corwin Gabbert was born November 4, 1928 in Indianapolis, IN. Lee died May 20, 2014. Lee was a Navy Veteran and served as a medical corpsman on an airplane carrier. He was married to Doris (Burgess) for 64 years and raised his family in Warren, MI and Westerville, OH. Lee retired from New York-based Continental Insurance Company after 24 years of service. During their many travels, he and Doris twice called Venice, FL their home. They returned from Fairfield Glade, TN, in October 2012. Lee is survived by his wife Doris, daughter Lynda and son-in-law John Cassan of Venice; son Michael Gabbert and wife Susan of Punta Gorda, and son Jeffrey Gabbert of Tennessee. He has five grandchildren, Paul, Richard, Tracey, Gina, and Max, plus five great grandchildren. Lee will rest in Section 3, Site 12 at Sarasota National Cemetery. GABBERT, Doris J. Gabbert (Abstracted from http://www.legacy.com/obituaries/heraldtribune/obituary.aspx?n=doris-jean- gabbert&pid=174318833&fhid=9074) Doris Jean (Burgess) Gabbert, age 84, of Venice, FL passed away February 28, 2015. Doris was born October 14, 1930 in Lansing, MI to Alice (Alderson) and Vernon Burgess. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Corwin Leon Gabbert on May 20, 2014. During the course of their marriage, job transfers and retirement adventures took them to live in cities coast-to-coast. Doris took pride in being a wife and mother and also enjoyed her career as an office manager in the Columbus, OH advertising agency she helped to form. In earlier years she took pleasure in her role as office manager for an insurance company and photography studio. Doris had a love for her friends and she relished a good game of bridge or mahjong and was a highly competitive golfer. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and John Cassan; her son and daughter-in-law Michael and Susan Gabbert; and her son and daughter-in-law Jeffery and Jackie Gabbert. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Surviving siblings include her sister and brother-in-law Gloria and Jeri VanKirk; brother and sister-in-law James and Joann Burgess. Inurnment will be in Section 3, Site 12 Friday, March 6 at Sarasota National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice to help in their endeavor to bring comfort to other families in their time of need. GABLE, Howard Lee Gable (Abstracted from https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/timesunion/obituary.aspx?n=howard-l-gable&pid=169342099&fhid=16498) Howard Lee Gable passed away at the age of 76 on January 20, 2014 at his home in Middleburg, FL. Mr. Gable was born on March 15, 1937 in LaGrange, GA to the late Jack and Grace Gable. Mr. Gable served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He retired from the Navy in 1973 as a Chief Petty Officer and then went to work for S.E. Toyota. In 1982, he accepted a key executive position with KIA Motors and established a distribution center in the Dominican Republic for all of Central and South America. During the next twenty-five years, Mr. Gable was instrumental in the establishment of automobile distribution and processing companies at various ports both domestic and international. In his lifetime, Mr. Gable visited over 100 countries and all seven continents. He was recognized for his accomplishments in various civic activities by the cities of Jacksonville, FL, Brunswick, GA, and Baltimore, MD. He was also recognized for his contribution to the promotion of friendship between the peoples of the United States & Korea. Mr. Gable is survived by three sons: Mitchell Gable, Mark (Christina) Gable, Jack (Marti) Gable, and one daughter, Monica Leanne Gable; four grandchildren: Brianna, Logan, Rose Mary, and Marky; two surviving brothers: Donald (Jean) Gable, and Richard (Lynn) Gable. Both brothers reside in the Atlanta, GA area. He has many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his sister, Helen Jackie Starke. A memorial service, with military honors, will be in Section 1M, Row A, Site 26 at Jacksonville National Cemetery. Gabor (Abstracted from the Herald Tribune on Jan. 2, 2003) Mary P. Gabor, age 78, Sarasota, died Dec. 22, 2002. She was born March 31, 1924, in Bridgewater, MA, and came to Sarasota in 1975 from Nashua, NH. She was a secretary for an insurance company. Survivors include a daughter, Susan Forrest of Chicago; and a sister, Ann Dru of Lakeland. Services will be in Section 13, Site 89 of the Sarasota National Cemetery later. Sarasota Memorial Funeral Home is in charge. GABOR, William D. Gabor William D. Gabor was born April 16, 1922, September 23, 2009. Buried in Section 13, Site 89 of the Sarasota National Cemetery. GABRIC, Ronald Wayne Gabric (Abstracted from Herald Tribune from Aug. 20 to Aug. 21, 2013) Ronald Wayne Gabric passed away on Aug 14, 2013 at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. He was born on Feb 26, 1946 in Akron, OH to John and Margaret Gabric. Ron graduated from Norton High School in Akron, and later joined the US Army. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War as a non-commissioned officer. After his service, Ron trained in sheet metal fabrication and later started his own business, Gabric's Fabricating. On February 24, 1978 Ron married the love of his life, Marla Jo Bailey in Newark, OH. They were blessed with a son, Bryan Ross, on June 24, 1980. The family moved to the North Texas area in 1984, where they lived for the next 26 years. Ron and Marla moved to Sarasota in 2010 when Ron retired. He is survived by his wife, Marla and son, Bryan. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and Jerry, his brother. Services will be under the direction of Toale Brothers Funeral Home, 6903 S. Tamiami Tr., Sarasota, FL 34231. Memorial Service is August 23. GADE, Frank Norman Gade (Abstracted from https://www.legacy.com/obituaries/timesunion/obituary.aspx?n=frank-gade&pid=160208304) Frank Norman Gade, age 57, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 in the care of Community Hospice N.E. Fla.-Morris Center in Jacksonville. Mr. Gade was born on April 20, 1955 in Reedsburg, WI, and grew up in El Paso, TX. He faithfully served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Gade and his brother, Harold Sweeney both in 1969, and by his grandparents, Lester and Beatrice Hoss. His survivors include his mother, Betty Jo Duncan, stepfather, Bill Duncan, sister, Joyce Schall (Jim), nieces, Jocelyn Hunter (Ronnie) and Jacqueline, nephew, Joshua Schall, and great-nieces, Desirae and Melody.
