Terrez Marriott Thompson is Vice President of Global Supplier Diversity for The Coca-Cola Company, leading the organization’s MODERATOR efforts to maximize procurement opportunities with diverse businesses. As an associate of The Coca-Cola Company for nearly 35 years, Thompson has held numerous roles of increasing responsibility. She assumed her current leadership position in April 2012. She is proudest of the innovative work she has done to develop diverse suppliers. Most notably the Supplier Training and Empowerment Program (STEP) to support The Coca-Cola Company’s 5By20 initiative to empower 5 million women by 2020. STEP also has a featured program focused on Women of Color, the fastest growing sector of entrepreneurs. STEP has doubled the number of women trained in its last two years. Just prior to her current assignment, she was responsible for Employee Engagement. Her responsibilities included building processes that optimized the existing systems that supported volunteerism, matching gifts and the Company’s non-profit board participation strategy. She has also served as AVP, Executive Assistant & Program Manager of Coca-Cola North America Innovation. In this role she led a major project to design and implement a new product innovation process for Coca-Cola North America, the Company’s flagship business unit. During this time at Coca-Cola North America Thompson also led other important strategic initiatives. Thompson has had other senior roles at Coca-Cola. Working with the EVP of Global Public Affairs she led the company’s $1 billion Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Program for minority and women-owned business. Prior to that appointment, Thompson served as AVP & Deputy to the President of the Africa Group. Thompson started at Coca-Cola in the Finance organization Terrez Thompson holding progressively responsible roles in that area; she was controller for The Coca-Cola Trading Company, and financial services VP of Global Supplier Diversity, manager for the Africa Group. The Coca-Cola Company Before coming to the Coca-Cola Company, Thompson was employed by Price Waterhouse as a senior auditor. A Certified Public Accountant, Thompson earned her bachelor’s degree from Morgan State University in 1981. She also is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated; The Links Incorporated and the proud wife of Rodney Thompson and mom to Summer Thompson. AUGUST 21 | VIRTUAL CONVERSATION CLIMBING THE LADDER AND LESSONS LEARNED PANELIST Sue Bhatia is Founder & Chairwoman of Rose International and was named one of Fast Company’s Top 25 Women Business Builders in North America. Sue Bhatia immigrated to America from India in the 1980s. Recognizing a need for IT recruiting solutions, she founded Rose International in 1993. Under her leadership, Rose has become one of the fastest-growing and most successful firms in the staffing and recruiting industry in the United States. Today, Rose International has over 20 offices and service delivery centers in the U.S. and India, with thousands of associates across the country, and was named a Best Place to Work by Glassdoor in both 2019 and 2020. Ms. Bhatia attributes her company’s rise to her immigrant mindset: she took total responsibility for her career, made success happen every single day, and never gave up when confronted with barriers as an Indian immigrant woman in Missouri. She faced adversity with poise and determination, paving the way for future generations of women, immigrants, and other people who, in the past, may have considered themselves outsiders. To that end, Sue Bhatia is committed to developing and promoting women and minority entrepreneurs around the world and Rose International is dedicated to building a stronger, more diverse labor force for the future. She served on the National Minority Supplier Development Council’s (NMSDC) Board of Directors and was the first female minority Sue Bhatia business owner to serve on the Board in this capacity. She also represented the MBE network at a White House CEO and Founder, Economic Summit in Washington D.C. and was named a “Woman of Distinction” for her deep commitment to breaking Rose International down barriers for women-owned businesses in the corporate and government supply chains. Further, Ms. Bhatia was awarded the Minority Business Leadership Award from the NMSDC and the National Entrepreneurial Success Award from the U.S. Small Business Association. The Staffing Industry Analysts (SIA) inducted Sue Bhatia into their Staffing 100 Hall of Fame and named her to their Global Power 100 – Women in Staffing list for her influence in and commitment to the staffing industry, and she was also recently inducted into the Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) Hall of Fame. Sue Bhatia holds a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Design from SPA, New Delhi, India, and a master’s degree in Management Information Systems from the University of Missouri, St. Louis. Chang joined Coca-Cola in 2019. Previously, Chang served as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer for AMB Group LLC in Atlanta. AMB Group is the investment management and shared services arm of The Blank Family of Businesses, including AMB Sports & Entertainment, the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United FC, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, PGA TOUR Superstores, Mountain Sky Guest Ranch, West Creek Ranch and The Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation.
