Ottawa, Ontario K2K 1Y6) and is governed by the Rules of EC. Rules & Regulations: Trillium At Palgrave SECTION 1: MEMBERSHIPS 1. Any rider(s) entering any class/division at this horse show, and any person or group listed as the owner(s) in the EQUESTRIAN CANADA (EC) Competition Horse Recordings of any horse or pony entered in any class or division at this horse show, must be current members in good standing of Ontario Equestrian (OE) and must supply original or copy of their up to date OE membership card for the present year at the show. Exhibitors, Owners or Lessees, and individuals accepting legal responsibility for an entry must be current Equestrian Canada Sport License holders in good standing and must supply original or copy of their current EC Sport License with their entry form, whether or not they intend to collect points towards Central East Zone year end awards or qualify for the Trillium Championships. Exemptions: Parents/ Guardians signing their children’s entry forms and Lead Line riders. Exhibitors, Owners or Lessees, and individuals accepting legal responsibility for an entry who do not hold a valid Sport License are permitted to participate with the purchase of a Temporary Sport License. (EC Gen. Regs, Chapter 2) 2. Any rider(s) entering any class or division at the horse show, and any person or group listed as the Owner(s) in the EQUESTRIAN CANADA Competition Horse Recordings (EC Gen. Reg, Chapter 4) of any horse or pony entered in any class/division at this horse show must be current members in good standing of the Trillium Hunter Jumper Association (THJA) in order to have prize winnings at this horse show count for points towards qualifying for the Trillium Championships and Central East Zone year-end awards. This includes the owners of leased horses unless the lease is officially registered with EC. 3. All riders and Owners of horses or ponies entered in the Silver and Bronze divisions/classes at this horse show require current EQUESTRIAN CANADA Sport Licenses in order to have prize winnings count for points towards qualifying for the Trillium Championships and Central East Zone year end awards. Results achieved while competing with a Temporary Sport License may not be used to accumulate points or qualify for Trillium Championships.Originals or copies of cards must be available to horse show. 4. Fully updated EC horse recordings and current Horse Licenses are required for all horses and ponies competing. Exceptions: Horses competing only in Bronze division classes, horses competing only in the Hack division and horses competing only in Lead Line classes. Any competitors that do not have proof of appropriate memberships for their division must purchase a temporary license. SECTION 2: ADMINISTRATION 1. Entries and applicable fees must be received on or before the closing date to avoid post entry fees. CLOSING DATE: Friday June 28, 2019. It is the responsibility of the entrant to provide proof of timely entry submission should there be a disagreement regarding time of entry. All entries will be marked with date and time of reception. Please make all cheques payable to Pickering Horse Centre Ltd. 2. Refunds: Administration and stall fees are not refundable, No Exceptions. Entry fees will be returned if cancelled in the show office 24 hours prior to the first class entered with proper medical documentation. Once a horse has entered the show grounds, there will be no refund unless authorized by the show committee. 3. No numbers will be issued without full payment or a signed open cheque left to cover all charges and fees incurred by the exhibitor. No numbers will be issued to any horse or rider for whom an entry blank has not been fully completed. 4. All NO SHOW entries, including faxed-in entries, will be charged full entry fees and all other applicable fees. All accounts must be settled prior to the next show, otherwise entries will be denied, and no points will be awarded. Please note any outstanding accounts at year end will not be eligible to receive year end awards. No telephone entries, stabling or scratches can be accepted. Scratched entries providing notification 24 hours in advance without a veterinarian certificate will be assessed a $25.00 scratch fee and administration fees. All unpaid fees will be considered an outstanding account until paid in full. Any classes/divisions entered but not completed will be charged. There will be no refund for classes scratched on the day of competition for any reason. You may change from one class/division to another at no additional charge as long as it has been cleared by the office. 5. No cell phone pictures of entries will be accepted. 6. A $50.00 charge will be added to all accounts paid with cheques that are returned from the bank for any reason. 7. Show Management reserves the right to change or amend show scheduling up to one hour prior to the designated class. 8. Stabling & Camper Space must be arranged directly with EMG: Fax (905) 880-4029. Please see the Stabling Form for details. No Refunds. SECTION 3: GENERAL 1. Every class offered herein is covered by the rules and specifications of the current rules of EC and will be held and judged in accordance with the EC Rule Book. 2. To compete in the under saddle class, the horse must complete at least one course over fences. 3. Protests, if any, must be made in writing and must be in the hands of the secretary within 48 hours of completion of the class concerned. No protest will be considered unless accompanied by a deposit of $50.00 which shall be forfeited to the committee if said protests are not sustained. Protesting an animal’s height carries a $100.00 cash deposit. NOTE: Protests are to be made through the steward of the horse show. Also available at the horse show office are Exhibitor Report Forms. These require no cash deposit and may be submitted to the show office, the steward or sent directly to OE. 4. After being eliminated for a fall, the rider may not remount in the ring. 5. Proper show attire, including jackets, is required for all divisions and classes, including all jumper divisions and judged warm-up classes, unless excused by judge or show management. NOTE: Jumper riders are expected to bring show jackets to ride in their classes. Individual show managers may make specific decisions regarding this rule. Jackets ARE NOT excused unless announced. Exhibitors without jackets may not be permitted to show. 6. Jumper classes, unless otherwise indicated in the Horse Show Prize List and Show Program, will be run under FEI Article 238. For rules pertaining to Tack and Equipment please refer to EC Article G502. 7. Competitors must be junior or amateur in Medal Classes. 8. Hors Concours riding will not be permitted at this horse show. 9. Back numbers must be worn and visible at all times while mounted on the show grounds and in warm up areas. 10. Junior competitors must wear proper fitting, approved protective headgear, with the safety harness correctly secured, at all times while mounted on competition or event grounds. Approved headgear meets the ASTM (American Society for Testing Materials) standards and displays the SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) seal. The British standard, BSI is also acceptable. Anyone mounted on a horse must wear ASTM or BSI approved helmets, with safety harness correctly fastened at all times while mounted on the competition grounds. Juniors showing any horse in a jog for soundness must wear approved protective headgear with the attached safety harness fastened. 11. Management reserves the right to limit or close the entries of any classes or divisions in an effort to adhere to the timetable 12. Any horse entered in any class at a competition subject to the requirements to pay drug testing fees may, while on the competitions grounds and on the recommendation of the chair of the provincial Equine Medication Control Committee or the chair appointee, be selected for equine medication control testing. 13. Per Article A801, every entry at an EC sanctioned competition shall constitute an agreement by the person responsible that the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, driver or rider and horse shall be subject to the EC constitution and all rules of EC and any additional rules set be the competition. It is the responsibility of of all individuals participating in any capacity in the EC sanctioned competitions to be knowledgeable regarding the EC constitution and the applicable rules of EC and the additional rules, if any, imposed by the competition.
