Thanks also go to COFNOD Local Records Centre for permitting me to use some of their records for use only in this Register and to Lucy Boyett who shared her data on Senecio cambrensis (.’The Status of Senecio cambrensis Rosser’ 2011 Boyett L.E. University of Birmingham) I should also like to thank all the recorders who so kindly send me records and whose contribution is so much appreciated. Introduction This is the second version of a Rare Plant Register for Denbighshire VC50. It includes an update of data collected since 2011 as well as summary tables showing taxa not recorded since 1999. Both versions follow on from my predecessor Jean A. Green’s book ‘The Flowering Plants and Ferns of Denbighshire’ (2006, Countryside Council for Wales). This is a plant list and was the first to be published for Denbighshire VC50. At the time of writing there has been no flora published for Denbighshire. This second version of the Rare Plant Register shows records taken from 2000 to 2013, sourced by my own MapMate data, by the BSBI’s distribution database, by records from COFNOD and also from Lucy Boyett (Senecio cambrensis). It includes native plants and some archaeophytes which have international or national rarity status, irrespective of their rarity in Denbighshire, as well as plants that are locally rare or scarce. It shows the year of the last record from each monad, or tetrad or even hectad for a taxon. It includes rarities i.e. up to and including three records as well as scarcities i.e. up to and including 15 records. Thanks to more recording since the first draft, especially at monad or better resolution, some taxa previously included as local scarcities have now been removed and some previously under-recorded taxa have now been demoted to scarce. For any of the species included I would very much welcome new records including six-figure grid references and comments on the abundance/ habitat. A full taxon list includes rarity statuses. Scientific and English nomenclature follows ‘ New Flora of the British Isles’, Clive Stace (3rd edition Cambridge University Press 2010) and Welsh usage derives from ‘Planhigion Blodeuol, Conwydd a Rhedyn’, (Cymdeithas Edward Llwyd 2003). 2 Should you wish to send in any records, a recording form is available on the website at www.BSBI.org/denbighshire. It includes a list of all taxa recorded in VC50 Denbighshire, making data entry easy to do and to send electronically. All records gratefully received. If there are any comments or errors, do please let me know. Delyth Williams BSBI Recorder VC50 Denbighshire May 2014 3 Cofrestr Planhigion Prin Sir Ddinbych VC50 Yr Ail Fersiwn Cydnabyddiaeth Yr ydwyf yn wir ddiolchgar unwaith eto i Dr Polly Spencer‐Vellacot, Swyddog Cymreig y BSBI am ei chymorth a’I hanogaeth gyda hwn a’r drafft cyntaf, ac yn enwedig gyda rhannau o’r dechnoleg gwybodaeth ac am fformatio’r daenlen. Yr ydwyf yn ddiolchgar hefyd i COFNOD, ein canolfan cofnodion lleol, am y caniatad i gynwys rhai o’u cofnodion i’w ddefnyddio yn unig yn y gofrestr hon, ac i Lucy Boyett sydd wedi rhannu eu data ar Senecio cambrensis (.’The Status of Senecio cambrensis Rosser’ 2011 Boyett L.E. University of Birmingham) Gair bach o ddiolch wrth gwrs i’r cofnodydd holl sydd yn mor ffeind i anfon eu chofnodion i mi; dwi’n wir werthfawrogi eu chyfraniad. Rhagarweiniad Hon yw’r ail fersiwn o’r Gofrestr Planhigion Prin yn Sir Ddinbych VC50. Y mae hi’n cynwys ddiweddariad o’r data wedi eu casglu ers 2011 gyda taflenni crynhoi sydd yn dangos taxa heb eu cofnodi ers 1999. Dilynir y gofrestr y gwaith a wnaeth fy rhagflaenydd Jean A. Green yn ei llyfr ‘ The Flowering Plants and Ferns of Denbighshire’ (2006 Cyngor Cefn Gwlad Cymru).Rhestr o blanhigion yw hon ac y cyntaf i’w chyhoeddi ar gyfer Sir Dinbych VC50. Ar hyn o bryd ni chyhoeddwyd flora ar gyfer Sir Ddinbych. Dengys hon, yr ail adroddiad o’r Gofrestr Planhigion Prin, gofnodion o 2000 hyd 2013. Eu tarddiad yw’r ‘MapMate’ fy hun, chronfa ddata dosraniadol y BSBI a chofnodion gan COFNOD. Cynhwysir planhigion brodorol a rhai ‘archaeophyta’ sydd ganddynt statws prinder gwladol neu ryngwladol ar wahan eu prinder yn Sir Ddinbych. Cynhwysir hefyd planhigion sydd yn lleol brin neu yn lleol anghyffredin. Dangosir blwyddyn y cofnod diweddaraf oddi wrth bob monad, neu tetrad, neu hydnod hectad am bob taxon. Cynhwysir y prinoedd h.y. i fyny at ac yn cynwys tri o gofnodion a hefyd y rhai anghyffredin h.y. i fyny at ac yn cynwys 15 o gofnodion. Yn ol y waith cofnodi ers y drafft cyntaf, yn enwedig at lefel y monad neu yn well, mae rhai taxa, cynt yn ‘anghyffredin’, wedi cael eu tynnu allan a mae hefyd eraill sydd rwan yn dangos fel ‘anghyffredin’ yn hytrach na ‘phrin’. Mae rhestr lawn o’r taxa yn cynwys statws prinder. Mae’r dull enwi gwyddonol yn dilyn ‘New Flora if the British Isles’, Clive Stace (3ydd golwg Gwasg y Prifysgol Caergrawnt 2010); mae’r enwi Cymraeg yn dilyn ‘Planhigion Blodeuol, Conwydd a Rhedyn’, Cymdeithas Edward Llwyd 2003. Am unrhyw un o’r rhywogaethau amgaeedig, wir croesawir cofnodion newydd, yn cynwys atgyfeiriad y grid am 6 rhif gyda’r dyddiad. Mae yna daflen cofnodi ar y wê, sef www.BSBI.org/denbighshire. Mae’n cynwys rhestr o’r holl taxa wedi eu cofnodi yn VC50 Sir Ddinbych , sydd yn gwneud y proses o mewnbwn ac anfon y data yn hawdd Os oes unrhyw sylwadau neu gamgymeriadau, gadewch i mi wybod, os gwelwch yn dda Delyth Williams Cofnodydd y BSBI VC50 Sir Ddinbych Mai 2014 4 Summary tables (2000-2013 records) by category (first reason for inclusion) These tables list species by order of the reasons for inclusion: 1.
