She is an experienced developer of online learning materials and an e-tutor and currently coordinates LLAS activity in relation to elearning, including running the annual elearning symposium. She has managed a number of projects related to OER and oversees two repositories of OER for LLAS: LanguageBox and HumBox. She advises on the online development for the University of Southampton’s MLANG course, manages the annual online pre-sessional courses, and was the course designer for the University of Southampton/British Council FutureLearn MOOC: ‘Understanding Language: learning and teaching.’ Her research interests include OER and learning design. Erika Corradini is an academic coordinator within the Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies. Erika’s research work is centred on the transformations that languages are subject to throughout history with a special focus on English and its cognates. Before coming to LLAS in 2009, Erika lectured in History of the English Language and Early English Texts and taught modern and old languages. At LLAS, Erika manages projects in the areas of translation and interpreting, community languages, multilingualism, and languages in schools and higher education. She assists in coordination of the LLAS elearning symposium and has been involved in LLAS projects related to OER, focussing on copyright and IPR issues in open access. She tweets at @eri_llas. Alison Dickens is Assistant Director of the Centre for Languages, Linguistics and Area Studies. Alison is a modern linguist who has worked in education for 25 years in a range of language teaching, academic development and project management roles. She currently directs the LLAS academic development programme, develops and delivers training in a number of areas including elearning, language teaching and internationalisation. She was part of the vi Notes on contributors founding team who oversaw the first elearning symposium and has been involved with all subsequent events. She is Deputy Director of Enterprise within Modern Languages at the University of Southampton, and manages the university’s language courses within the LifeLong Learning programme. Invited contributors Benoît Guilbaud is a Senior French language tutor and course co-ordinator at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. He has worked in Higher Education since 2007 after studying and training at the universities of Clermont-Ferrand (France) and Cardiff (UK). He has taught on modules in French for medicine, business and law, as well as general French language. He has presented at a number of conferences on the topics of language teaching, digital literacy and networked learning. He was voted ‘Most Innovative Lecturer’ at the Manchester Student Union Teaching Awards 2014. He tweets as @BenGuilbaud. Marina Orsini-Jones is Course Director for the MA in English Language Teaching in the Department of English and Languages at Coventry University where she also coordinates the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning Network in the Faculty of Business, Environment and Society. She has published work on e-learning innovation, language awareness, CALL, digital literacies and e-portfolio-supported personal development planning. She has delivered numerous papers on e-language learning at national and international conferences and organised various e-learning workshops in collaboration with staff at LLAS. She is currently investigating the features of Intercultural Communicative Competence (ICC) in Computer Mediated Communication (CMC).
