Happy Groundhog Day If the groundhog comes out of its hole and sees its shadow, we are in store for six more weeks of winter. To see a shadow, the sun must be shining, and the groundhog has to look in the cor- rect direcon. Canada has several official groundhogs. Nova Scoa has Shubenacadie Sam, who is the first in the country to rear his head on Groundhog Day. Then the tradion makes its way across our me zones, moving on to Wiarton Willie and Gary the Groundhog in Ontario, Brandon Bob in Manitoba, and Balzac Billy in Al- berta.
