SAVE UP TO 55% OF THE VOLUME OF CONCRETE and up 20% of the total built volume with the consequent carbon footprint reduction. All this with conventional concrete, conventional steel and conventional man labour. Due to its groundbreaking design, huge spans between supports can be achieved with a high level of services. The building conduc- tions and services can expand all through the thickness of the slab while becoming embedded in it. This means that services in croos- sections occupy the same space as the structure itself and thus o adittional suspended ceilings are required to hide them. HOLEDECK can be assimilated to a reinforced concrete BOYD beam in which the mass of the section is placed in its most efficient position by removing the unnecesary concrete of it which is not under stress. HOLEDECK is especially suitable for buildings requiring multiple services as well as big or mediums spans, such as office buildings, hospitals, schools or any public, commercial or industrial building. LOGITEL Building, Alcalá de Henares, Madrid, SPAIN www.holedeck.com 3 ECONOMICALLY HOLEDECK reduces concrete consumption and the slab weight Concrete HOLEDECK system saves volume of concrete but is similar to a conventional bidirectional slab in steel consumption and run- times. Therefore, concrete consumption is decreased, reducing structure self weight, loads transfered to foundations and steel reinforcement in the same way. Concrete consumption and self weight are decreased with Holedeck, using conventional concrete and steel. Total built volume Reduction of the order of 20% of the total built volume. You can gain a whole storey each 5 floors, and you can significantly increase the floor area for the same volume. Construction elements With the 10 to 20 % savings on façades and interior walls, there is a consequente reduction between 10 to 20 % of pillars and / or load bearing walls. Full lots of items as suspended ceiling and / or technical floor can be eliminated. Services can be supported on deck ribs, eliminating ancillary restraints. 4 ECONOMICALLY Power Decrease of energy losses of the building between 10 to 20 %, in the same proportion as the enclosure is reduced. It can take ad- vantage of the thermal inertia of the entire mass of concrete that forms the slab, making a heat accumulator that reduces energy consumption and improves comfort. Holedeck becomes an ideal solution to meet the standard NZEB. Depending on climate conditions, energy consumption can be reduced up to 25%. Compatibility with bioclimatic systems: a system of specific ser- vices can be designedy, allowing the integra ted usage of the most innovative and sustainable technologies (geothermal ener- gy by Canadian wells, solar energy, type ventilation plenum, etc.). Also can be easily adapted to a project with more conventional installations. Acoustic performance The geometry of the slab gives an excellent acoustic perfor- mance. Thanks to the geometry of the system, it absorbs a wide range of the sound spectrum. The reverberation time is reduced to 1/ 5 with respect to a flat concrete slab. No acoustic suspended ceiling are needed to achieve CTE DB HR regulation. Maintenance Services registrability is improved because no demolition, or paralyzing the activity is needed for adaptations and reconfigura- tions. The costs of maintenance and reconfiguration is decreased, while reducing interference with activities. HOLEDECK is a 100% registrable. Eeasy cleaning of the ducts without requiring demolition or specific equipment is possible, facilitating the elimination of the Sick Building Syndrome (SBS). www.holedeck.com 5 SUSTAINABILITY HOLEDECK add value by sustainability during all life-cycle stages of the building DURING PROJECT DESIGN STAGE t Built height decreasing. Reduction of façade area, parti- tions and many other vertical elements, what means ma- terial savings and CO2 footprint cuts down. t Suspended ceilings can be supressed, decreasing CO2 footprint (Including fastenings) t Concrete consumption decreasing for the building completion, related to the HOLEDECK slab voids and the reduction of foundations. t Decreasing of the structure self-weight, both steel rein- forcement and CO2 footprint can be reduced. DURING BUILDING PROCESS STAGE t Holedeck molds are recoverable and reusable in succe- sive floor construction. It is not kept embedded like other polystyrene or polymeric molds. Big slab areas can be built using a few molds. t Holedeck molds are manufactured with polypropylene, so they are re-cyclable once its life-cycle becomes to an end allowing to create brand new molds. t Holedeck, as cast-in-place concrete technology, employ- es local resources and workforce. That way, both trans- portation cost and carbon footprint are decreased. DURING LIFE-CYCLE USE STAGE t Built volume decrease means that air conditioning needs and energy waste to keep comfort is also reduced. t Services and uses can be reconfigured, without demoli- tion or big intervention, thus extending life cycle of the building. t Due to its balance between volume and area, Holedeck mass can be thermally activated acting as a radiant ceiling taking advantage of thermal inertia of the slab. t Due to its registability and easy-to-clean maintenance, HOLEDECK reduces Sick Building Syndrome risk. (SBS) t Sustainable ventilation systems are compatible with Holedeck, thanks to plenum air distributions or fabric and washable air ducts. Also thermal recovering systems are allowed. 6 SUSTAINABILITY HOLEDECK is a sustainable technology that improves energetic behaviour of buildings approach to various cetification standards. NZEB Y PASSIVHAUS NZEB (Nearly Zero Energy Building): Holedeck utilization is aligned with energy-waste decreasing in architecture. Energy consumption of a building includes building process, as well as energy demand and maintenance during life-cycle. From an holistic approach of sustainability by dercreasing, HOLEDECK improves behaviour in all phases. PASSIVHAUS: HOLEDECK slab design has been specifically developed to provide easy setting of high perfomance air circulation systems, including thermal recovering systems. ENERGY CERTIFICATION: LEED, BREEAM LEED: (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Holedeck involves potential improvement in the process of assessment of buildings for LEED certification: CORE&SHELL, NEW CONSTRUCTION, SCHOOLS. BREEAM: (Building Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Methodology) assesses the environmental impacts in different categories, ranging from urban planning to the new building and the existing ones. BREEAM analyzes the different requirements of sustainability according to the different phases of the construction from design to execution of the work and subsequent maintenance, where HOLEDECK can do its best. www.holedeck.com 7 PRODUCT HOLEDECK Molds Holedeck provides its Molds and all the Technical support needed at all stages. Holedeck molds are manufactured with high-resistance polypropylene, so they are re-usable up to 50 times if used correctly. At the end of it life-cycle, the polypropylene can be recycled and reused to make new Molds. Components Holedeck system comprises 3 main parts: t Main Mold (Ho30, Ho45), with insertion rails. t Lateral Closed Window (HWC), for edge solutions. t Lateral Open Window (HW250, HW160), for connecting Molds. Besides the main pieces we have other pieces that increase the range of products: t Lateral Piece (HXLS) and upper (HXLT), to form the XL and one-way slabs. t Upper Window (HC), to generate lattice slab with an upper opening. HC HXLS HXLS HW250 Ho45 HWC Manufacture Holedeck Molds are injected in the Eropean Union, under strict quality controls. Our manufacturers are certified under ISO-9001 and ISO-14001. Logistic HOLEDECK manufactures these molds, supplies them and pro- vides the necessary technical assistance to ensure the quality of our structures. Besides our molds are stackable and therefore .PMETNBOVGBDUVSJOH
