COL JEFFREY DOUGLASWOOD STAFF JUDGE ADVOCATE ARKANSAS NATIONAL GUARD * * * * COL Jeffrey Douglas Wood was born in Newport, Arkansas. Hereceived * * * his B . A . from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1993, his M . B . A . * * from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 1996 , his J. D . from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2004, and a Master of Strategic Studies from the United States ArmyWar College in 2019. COL Wood began his military career in 2000 by enlisting in the Arkansas Army NationalGuard and served as a Specialist, Administrative Specialist, for four years prior to being commissioned as a First Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate General Corps in 2004 COL Wood has served at Joint Force Headquarters as a Judge Advocate General, the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team as a Trial Counsel/ Operational Law Judge Advocate and the Brigade Judge Advocate . He established the 326th Trial Defense Team and served as the first Senior Defense Counsel. COL Wood currently serves as the full- time Staff Judge Advocate for the Arkansas NationalGuard in a dual status federal technician Attorney Advisor position. In 2018 Governor Asa Hutchinson appointed him to serve as the State Judge Advocate for the Arkansas National Guard . COL Wood deployed with the 39th Infantry Brigade Combat Team as the Trial Counsel/Operational Law Judge Advocate in support ofOperation IraqiFreedom in 2008 . He also served in the humanitarian relief efforts in New Orleans, Louisiana, in response to HurricaneKatrina in 2005 and in Houston , Texas, in response to Hurricane Harvey in 2017 . COL Wood' s military education includes: Judge Advocate Officer Basic Course , Judge Advocate Officer Advanced Course , Intermediate LevelEducation Course , Advanced Operations Course, the United States Command and GeneralStaff Officer Course , and a Distinguished Graduate at the United States ArmyWar College for Senior Service College and JointProfessional Education Phase One.
