Cultural exchange activities Trips are organized through local travel agencies for J1 students each year to places like Niagara Falls, Washington DC, New York, Philadelphia, and more. We also usually hold employee parties for our American and International staff once each summer. Located on the Delaware Shores, the Rehoboth Beach Resort Area is known for awesome restaurants, specialty stores, amusements. Rehoboth has a quaint small town feel – a real walking downtown and all the fun, relaxation or excitement you could ask for. Dewey Beach is just a short walk from Rehoboth Beach and is located between the Atlantic Ocean and Rehoboth Bay. Dewey offers beach sports and activities as well as great restaurants, majestic sunsets, live music, dancing, and nightlife that is world famous for adults of all ages. During the summer, Dewey offers family activities including movies and bonfires on the beach. The Resort’s Gateway (Highway One), offers a “mile of style” at the famous Tanger Outlet Center. Nature based activities include kayaking, nature cruises, ferry rides, walking trails, surfing, skimboarding, paddleboarding, sailing or exploring the water’s edge. Just add historical venues and live performing arts to make your stay in the “Nation’s Summer Capital” a perfect one. Position Job title: Arcade Attendant - Beach Arcade North Job prerequisites: 1. Upper Intermediate English + 2. Participants should have a high tolerance for environmental noise. Arcades can be loud at peak times. 3. Students must arrange their housing. 4. Flexible and cheerful. Job description: Assists guests with change, redeeming tickets for prizes, and all courtesy transactions throughout the arcade. Works to assist guests with game problems and knowledge of how to play the games. Assists in merchandising functions including display, inventory receiving, and stocking. Assists in all cash handling functions including registers and daily reporting. Ensures arcade area achieves the highest standards in areas of cleanliness, presentation, and service. Start date may vary from DS date; students will be given a start date on arrival Arrival Instructions: Students should not expect to start training on the weekend. Training will be only on weekday mornings (Monday-Thursday) Your official start date will be scheduled once you arrive to the employer. Start dates may vary several days from your DS date. Please be patient and allow the employer to integrate you into the schedule. Students will be given a date to start training as soon as they arrive. Students who arrive during the Memorial Day holiday 5/24 to 5/27 will not be able to start immediately. Is training required? Students will be trained in several different positions. Training may take up to two weeks. Students may not receive full hours until training period is complete. No job, or hours at a job, can be 100% guaranteed. Regardless of what your work contract states, there is always a possibility that you will work more or less hours. Participants should expect to have less hours during the first two weeks of training. Students will be required to work on peak business days, Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. Any employee with long hair must have it up and off their shoulders. No visible tattoos. Only clear nail polish is permitted; nails must be kept short and well groomed. Natural looking hair color only. Culturally in the US, it is considered unsanitary not to shower every day. It is important to shower, wear antiperspirant and clean your clothes daily. Important points of job: Fun atmosphere, participants must be tolerant of noise. Additional position information: Participants should have a high tolerance for environmental noise. Arcades can be loud at peak times. Arcade Attendants may clean bathrooms, floors, counters, glass and empty trash cans. Arcade Attendants may assist in restocking under-counters and from deliveries. Participants should be able to handle difficult customers and obstacles faced working with the public. Basic math skills are required. Participants must study the American Study Guide for Cashiers. Advanced English. Participants will be required to work on peak business days, Friday, Saturday, and Sundays. Housing is must arrange own and is limited in Rehoboth Beach.
