Pursuant to House Rule No. 23, the Clerk called the House to order. Representative Brenner was selected to preside under the Rule. The journal of the previous legislative day was read and approved. Representative Gonzales moved that the House advance to the sixth order of business, being motions and resolutions. The motion was agreed to. MOTIONS AND RESOLUTIONS Representative Gonzales moved that H. B. No. 410-Representatives Seitz, Butler, et al., be taken from the calendar and re-referred to the committee on Rules and Reference. The motion was agreed to without objection. Representative Gonzales moved that the House revert to the second order of business, being introduction of bills. The motion was agreed to. To amend sections 323.151, 323.152, 323.153, 4503.064, 4503.065, and 4503.066 of the Revised Code to enhance the homestead exemption for surviving spouses of peace officers, firefighters, and emergency medical personnel killed in the line of duty. To amend sections 2919.22, 3107.017, 3107.05, 3109.51, 4510.13, 4510.31, and 5101.13 and to enact sections 3107.035, 3109.81, 3109.811, 3109.812, 3109.813, 3109.814, and 3109.815 of the Revised Code regarding child rehoming and nonjudicial grants of parental rights. H. B. No. 516 - Representative Cera. To enact section 5534.808 of the Revised Code to designate a portion of State Route 78 in Monroe County as the "Sgt. Herman Zerger, Jr. Highway." H. B. To enact section 5.2315 of the Revised Code to designate the month of October as "Ohio Principals Month." H. B. No. 518 - Representatives Dever, Cera. To amend sections 1531.01, 1533.01, 1533.10, 1533.101, 1533.102, 1533.103, 1533.11, 1533.111, 1533.13, 1533.32, and 2923.16 and to enact sections 1533.321 and 1533.38 of the Revised Code to make changes to the laws governing hunting and fishing. Said bills were considered the first time.
