DHL TURKEY FACT SHEET OVERVIEW Turkey is currently the world’s 18th largest economy, with the potential to reach 12th place by 2050. Though only 5 per cent of Turkey is in Europe, the country is nonetheless considered part of Europe and as such is Europe’s sixth largest economy and one of the fastest-growing markets in both Europe and the OECD. Turkey’s per capita GDP has accelerated from US$ 3,500 in 2002 to US$ 15,300 in 2013. With one of Europe’s highest youth populations (700,000 graduates enter the workforce each year) Turkey’s growth is on course to continue: by 2018, Turkey is predicted to be the world’s second-fastest growing economy.
