Class Descriptions All classes will hold a final performance on the last day of class Action Acting: Start with improvisation, acting off the cuff and without a script, and then develop that skill into acting a rehearsed play. It’s a lot of fun and acting techniques will be covered. Audition Song: Sharpen presentation skills and sell your song at an audition. Breathing and singing techniques will be covered. Students will leave this class with a prepared song to use for auditions. Audition Workshop: This class will cover various acting and audition DRAMA CLASSES techniques. You will leave this class with a fully developed monolog you can take to auditions. Class is great for those going to SETC or trying for Weaver Academy. (Does not guarantee admission) Dance Styles for Broadway: Hip-hop, tap, jazz, and other dance techniques will be covered. This is a full semester class covering many different styles used in musical theatre. Taught in conjunction with Dance Project, www.danceproject.org/school. ( Loaner tap shoes available if needed.) Mini-Musical: Do it all! Learn to sing, dance and act as the class puts together a mini version of a Broadway musical. Develop stage presence and learn various elements of musical theatre performance. Pinocchio: Act out the story of the wooden puppet who wants to be a boy. While the older kids are preparing a full fledged production the younger ones will be doing their own version. Stage presence and Winter, Spring creative dramatics are incorporated elements of the class.
