Massachusetts Pac-10 opener, Stanford had won 28 straight games, tying for the 17th-longest winning streak of all- 24. Southern Illinois time. It was the longest single-season run by a Pac-10 team since Arizona (31 games) and Cal (32 games) 25. Texas posted similar streaks early in 2001. Prior to this year, Stanford’s longest win streak was 16 games (2002).
