CHAPTER ______ 1 AN ACT concerning 2 Creation of a State Debt – Maryland Consolidated Capital Bond Loan of 2021, 3 and the Maryland Consolidated Capital Bond Loans of 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 4 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 5 FOR the purpose of authorizing the creation of a State Debt in the amount of One Billion, 6 One Hundred Seven Million, Four Hundred Twenty–Seven Thousand Dollars 7 ($1,107,427,000) One Billion, One Hundred and Six Million, Three Hundred Seventy 8 Thousand, Six Hundred Twenty Dollars ($1,006,370,620) ($1,106,370,620), the 9 proceeds to be used for certain necessary building, construction, demolition, 10 planning, renovation, conversion, replacement, and capital equipment purchases of 11 the State, for acquiring certain real estate in connection therewith, and for grants to 12 certain subdivisions and other organizations for certain development and 13 improvement purposes, subject to certain requirements that certain matching funds 14 be provided and expended by certain dates; providing generally for the issuance and 15 sale of bonds evidencing the loan; imposing a certain tax on all assessable property EXPLANATION: CAPITALS INDICATE MATTER ADDED TO EXISTING LAW. BE IT ENACTED BY THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF MARYLAND, 26 That: 27 (1) The Board of Public Works may borrow money and incur indebtedness on 28 behalf of the State of Maryland through a State loan to be known as the Maryland 29 Consolidated Capital Bond Loan of 2021 in the total principal amount of $1,107,427,000 30 $1,006,370,620 $1,106,370,620. This loan shall be evidenced by the issuance, sale, and 31 delivery of State general obligation bonds authorized by a resolution of the Board of Public 32 Works and issued, sold, and delivered in accordance with §§ 8–117 through 8–124 and 33 8–131.2 of the State Finance and Procurement Article.
