This community has played a pivotal role since the hospital’s founding in 1901 in a small clapboard house on Castelar Street, where a group of women united to address the lack of medical care for the city’s children. That dedication to children’s health and well-being has thrived for more than a century, as generations of women and men have stood up to lead and support the hospital in an increasingly complex world. Being the best isn’t easy. It takes hard work, dedication and commitment.
