Generous financial contributions from partners and local businesses have brought lights, decorations and interactive surprises to some of Hackney’s busiest streets, including Hackney Empire panto-themed installations along Mare Street. A decorative highlight is the five Christmas trees, created by local fashion talent, and standing proud in each of Hackney’s town centres. Fashion designers were tasked with bringing magic, sparkle and distinguishable style to the trees, which feature pom poms, golden pineapples, rags, cherries and wild animals (not real ones). The trees are located at Dalston Square, Hackney Town Hall, Old Street in Shoreditch, Stoke Newington Church Street, and Prince Edward Road in Hackney Wick.
