MARISTMARIST FOOTBALLFOOTBALL CLUBCLUB NEWSNEWS UPDATEUPDATE Juniors relish the wet conditions The wet start to the second phase of the season was a nice change for players who got a true winter experience - with rain and mud to add to the excitement of playing footy! We encourage all parents to keep an eye on the weather forecast and if it is looking wet, to bring a change of warm clothes and a towel for their players after the game. With flu and colds knocking kids out of school, it is best to be protective of them to give them every chance of staying fit and well as we start the winter sports season. Be aware that the team photos are underway and your team will be called up to the clubrooms for their annual pic! Auskick coaches had a feedback session recently. We will be conducting the same session with the junior and youth coaches in the coming weeks to share what has worked, what hasn’t and also how the club can better support coaches. This will help strengthen the club’s support in the future and all coaches are encouraged to attend. Invites will be out shortly. MARIST FOOTBALL CLUB NEWS UPDATE A word from the Respecting Umpires I would like to take this opportunity to follow up President on recent events reminding us all to respect umpires, in particular the young boys and girls just starting out. Parents need to always set the standard for respect in any social environment and junior football is no different. We all need to consider if the way we are behaving and speaking to anyone is providing the right role modelling for our children. Respect for umpires goes beyond their role as officials of the game; they are all human beings who deserve respect. I trust Marist will continue to set the standard for a positive game day environment with umpire respect a key part of this.
