The signifi cance of our scholarship program to youthful descendants of Mayfl ower passengers is evinced by a tally of awards made to date. As of April 2006, the Indiana Society has made 31 awards – 20 to young women and 11 to young men. For this important undertaking we hope for continued enthusiastic support from our members, whose anticipated contributions will be added to the generous $6000 scholar- ship endowment received recently as a bequest from the estates of our greatly missed friends, Don and Betty Goss. Looking back ninety years to the 1916 founding of this Society, one reads about many of the movers and shakers of Indianapolis and Indiana society. The following excerpt provides interesting reading.
