While you might not be able to blast into space like Sam Alexander and the Nova Corps, you can create a rocket with household items to learn more about propulsion. you will need... Empty 2-liter bottle or equivalent Tornado tube connector (or duct tape) Flexible tubing Paper Tape Scissors Get Creating! 1. Build the Rocket: Wrap the paper loosely around the flexible tube and tape it to itself. Make sure it slides off the tube easily. Fold over one end of the tube and tape it down. You can even add “fins” with extra paper if you wish! 2. Assemble the Propulsion Device: Attach one end of the tornado tube connector to the empty bottle and connect the other end around the flexible tube as firmly as possible. No tor- nado tube connector? No problem! You can use duct tape instead. 3. Prepare to Launch: Place the bottle on the ground and hold the other end of the tube so the opening faces into the air. Slide the paper rocket over the tube. 4. Lift Off: Count down...3...2...1! Stomp on the bottle and watch your rocket fly! think about it...
