Oversize maps are filed separately. B. C.A. Hitchcock, correspondence 1892-1906 Longtime associate and good friend of J.T. Reid. Hitchcock was an attorney and capitalist; he solicited investors for many of J.T. Reid's mining ventures; he also sold various properties for Reid and his brothers. Hitchcock established and ran the New York office for the Mines Development Company. Box 4 C. WHITE CLOUD COPPER MINING COMPANY Preceded the Nevada United Mining Co. Oliver G. Jennings purchased White Cloud in 1895. There is a background paper on the White Cloud Mining District in the Print file of the Nevada Historical Society under "White Cloud District." NEVADA UNITED MINING COMPANY Arizona Corporation incorporated 7/26/1906; Reid was the manager; Oliver G. Jennings was the President. Thirty-three claims in the j White Cloud Mining District included the following Patented claims in 1910- * Imperial (formerly Copper Ingot), Pacific (formerly Vulcan), Sierra (formerly Mount Vesuvius), Planet (formerly Copper Glance), Emperor (formerly Mount Aetna), Uncle Tom (formerly Stone Cabin), Red Oxide, Carbonate, Copper Giant and Copper Ring. These ten claims patented by 1910; they were acquired by deed from O.G. Jennings; purchased 1 1/1/1906. Unpatented claims in 1910- New York claim acquired from O.G. Jennings by deed 11/1/06. The King Pin, Chief Prize, Choice Copper, Dandy Copper, Banner Copper, & Copper Prince were secured by deed from J.T. Reid; purchased 9/18/1906. The Clifton, Bisbee, Cananea, Bingham, Hecla, St. Lawrence, Cuprite, Azurite, and Jerome claims were acquired by deed from J.T. Reid; purchased April 22, 1907. Other claims included the Phoenix, Eclipse, Merkel, Burghard, Gillig, Fowler and Lowther. These 23 claims were in the process of being patented in 1910. In 1910 O.G. Jennings was still President; David R. Fowler was Secretary and J.T. Reid was Resident Agent of the company. Nevada United Mining Company In December of 1906 there is correspondence with Jennings regarding another mining company with a similar name; i.e., "Nevada / United Mine5Company" also an Arizona corporation with head offices in Denver, CO operating at Ward, Nevada (16 miles south of Ely); resident agent was H.R. The transfer was abandoned. 1) July 1931-Feb. 1932 with Stoddard Incorporating Co. and Nevada Secretary of State regarding Companion Industrial Mineral Mining Company. 2) 1931-1932 with Jennings' attorney regarding transfer of property from Nevada United Mining Comg Box 6 2. O.G. Jennings the major investor; Reid's claims equal $12,029.
