When a journey over the mountains to Mordor proved too dangerous, Gimli led the Fellowship on a path under the mountains DWARVEN PLATE (Invulnerability) through the Mines of Moria--only to discover unexpected danger and tragedy that threatened to end the journey of the Fellowship almost as soon as it had begun! Bringing him back to the fortress of Minas Morgul, a fight with the Uruk-hai captain Shagrat over Frodo’s possessions sparked a brawl between their troops-- giving Sam Gamgee a critical opportunity to try and save Frodo.
