CELCOM PRESENTS NICHOLAS TSE LIVE IN MALAYSIA Kuala Lumpur, 10 August 2005 - Canto-Pop singing sensation, Nicholas Tse, will be making his visit to Malaysian shores again to promote his new album - "One Inch Closer", and fans of the good looking, multi-talented artist will get a chance to meet him in person during his Malaysia Promo Tour 2005, which is being presented by Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad. Organised by Galaxy Sdn Bhd, the tour will kick-off on August 10, with various activities planned on the 11 th , 12 th and 13 th of the same month. His showcases will take place at Gurney Plaza's Garden in Penang on August 12, 2005 and the Sunway Amphitheatre in Sunway Lagoon, Selangor on August 13, 2005 Nicholas will also host autograph sessions on August 11, 2005 at Terminal 1 Shopping Centre, Seremban and at Lost World of Tambun, Ipoh Sunway City, Ipoh on August 13, 2005. Commenting on Celcom's partnership in the tour, Encik Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin, Vice President, Marketing, Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad, said, " Nicholas talent and achievements over the years as an artist makes him very appealing to fans, especially to young teenagers who always will look for someone different to idolise." "He is unique in his own style and this suits our brand that strives to be different. Celcom's commitment is to continuously delight our customers and one of the ways to do so is by offering them exciting ways of getting up close and personal with their musical idols such as the multi-talented Nicholas Tse." Hot on the heels of sponsoring the recent successful tour of another musical artiste, JJ Lim, the "One Inch Closer" Malaysian Promo Tour 2005 by Nicholas Tse is yet another one of Celcom's on-going efforts to get closer to its customers. "We hope that with our involvement in this programme, the customers will get to know more about our brand and at the same time, have the opportunity to meet their pop idols up close and personal. In conjunction with the upcoming Nicholas Tse showcase, we have come up with several incentives or goodies for our customers," Encik Zalman said. In conjunction with the event, Celcom offered its customers free tickets to the showcase. New Xpax customers who purchased the starter pack and downloaded one of Nicholas Tse's mobile content could redeem two tickets. As for existing customers, they needed to download 3 mobile contents to redeem one ticket. Aside from the downloadable, customers also had the opportunity to take part in an SMS challenge and win attractive prizes such as Sony PS2, Panasonic cordless phones and autographed CDs. The grand prize winner will win a four-day, three-night trip to Hong Kong for two persons and meet Nicholas Tse in person. Customers could also dedicate their personal message via SMS to Nicholas Tse. Starting out initially in music, Nicholas Tse made his first venture into the movies with his role as a young Chan Ho-Nam in Young and Dangerous: The Prequel (1998). Nicholas Tse's performance was rewarded with a Hong Kong Film Award for Best New Artist. He followed this with strong outings in the drama Metade Fumaca (1999), and in commercial productions like Gen-X Cops (1999) and My Schoolmate, the Barbarian (2001). In addition, Nicholas Tse had a scene-stealing cameo in Comic King (2000), and wrote and co-directed a short movie with fellow actor Stephen Fung for the anthology film Heroes in Love (2001). -end-.
