This year is significant as we celebrate our fifth year as title sponsor of the tournament, but more importantly, this is the first time a golf tournament of this magnitude has been held in Saskatchewan – a key part of CP’s network for more than 100 years . Canada’s National Women’s Open Championship continues to attract elite players from around the world, and this year is no exception . We’re thrilled to support our two CP ambassadors, 2016 Canadian Golf Hall of Famer Lorie Kane and Major LPGA Champion Brooke Henderson of Smiths Falls, Ontario . Through our CP Has Heart program, we will continue to demonstrate our com- mitment to the communities in which we live and operate . We have made it our mission to help improve the heart health of everyone in North America – men, women and children – through our strategic partnerships, sponsorships, activities and contributions that aid cardiovascular research and help fund the very best equipment for cardiac patients . As part of this ongoing mission, we’ve partnered with the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital for this year’s CP Women’s Open . All funds raised throughout the week will support a dedicated pediatric cardiology space and specialized equipment in the new hospital’s Pediatric Outpatients Clinic . During the tournament, all players will have the opportunity to increase the dona- tion total by participating in “CP Birdies for Heart” . Every birdie made on the par five, 17th hole, during tournament play will result in CP donating an additional $5,000 to the charity . For a $20 donation, you can upgrade your ticket to access the 17th & 18th Green CP Fan Zones, exclusive areas where you can watch players make CP Birdies for Heart on 17 and catch the final round of golf on 18 . Until the end of the tournament, CP is also matching all donations made at pattisonchildrenshasheart.ca . On behalf of the over 12,000-strong CP family, I would like to acknowledge The Wascana Country Club, Golf Canada and the LPGA, in addition to all the volunteers, sponsors and other stakeholders involved in the event . Your contributions will ensure another successful CP Women’s Open . Thank you for your generosity and for joining us at the 2018 CP Women’s Open . Keith Creel, CP President and CEO 2 2018 CP Women’s Open Celebrating the 2018 CP Women’s Open & the Great Province of Saskatchewan It is a testament to our proud partner CP that our National Women’s Open Golf Championship stands as one of the premier events on the LPGA Tour . Golf Canada conducts this championship as a rallying point for golf in this country—an event that allows our most talented players to challenge the world’s best . The championship also allows CP and Golf Canada to leave a legacy within the community through the tremendous CP Has Heart charity program . Under CP’s charitable stewardship, more than $6 .5M has been raised in support of children’s heart health in our host communities and there is great anticipation to see that legacy continue this year in support of the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation . To all the athletes competing this week — thank you for supporting our national championship which will proudly make its first-ever stop in this resplendent province . Community support for the event has been amazing and reflective of the diverse cultures of Saskatchewan . Many thanks to the membership and staff of The Wascana Country Club, as well as our proud sponsors and the team of 1,200 volunteers for their tireless efforts to ensure a successful championship . Finally, a special thank you to the dedicated golf enthusiasts across the country that have rallied behind Canada’s National Women’s Open Championship . Their passion for golf has fuelled the success of this championship throughout its storied history .
