EAMONN MCMANUS At long last we resume action on the field in 2020. It will be more than interesting to see the new rule changes in operation although I must admit The last five months has been more than it will feel more than a little surreal not seeing any challenging for all concerned with St Helens and scrums for the first time in the history of the game. with Super League so it’s a great relief to get the league back on track. Hopefully, we will gradually get fans back into grounds as time moves on. Until then keep It’s difficult to know where to start in thanking supporting us in whatever way you can : it is vital people for their patience, understanding, fortitude and I know you will. and efforts in recent months. But I must start with our fans who have shown such remarkable support in every respect. It is in such unprecedented times, when we are fighting for our very survival, that the true nature of the people upon whom our club depends shine through. The players, coaching staff and support staff have likewise been totally committed to their club and of course made significant salary sacrifice for the course of this season to help ensure our survival and , hopefully, future continued success. And last but not least our management, led by Mike Rush, and all our employees have likewise made the same sacrifice and shown total commitment to get us through this period. I thank them all. The club and the game still faces real financial and operational challenges in the months, and probably years ahead, but I’m confident that we have the quality of people at our club to ensure the continuity of its greatness. That is certainly our objective. One great, unexpected bonus arising from recent events is the return of our very own James Graham for the remainder of this season. If there was a person and player in the world that I could have chosen to lift our club at this time it would have been Jammer. We welcome him back into the fold with open arms and look forward to seeing his influence on the team and on the club in the months ahead. I’m sure it will be immense. “IT IS IN SUCH UNPRECEDENTED There’s no doubt that the sudden withdrawal of TIMES, WHEN WE ARE FIGHTING Toronto from our competition at such a vulnerable time for all Super League clubs threw a major FOR OUR VERY SURVIVAL, THAT proverbial spanner in the works.
