The town is also a climatic spa. In 1337 Gerolstein got the town rights. Gerolstein is headquarters to a large mineral water firm, Gerolsteiner Brunnen. Gerolsteiner – the only mineral water with a star The special characteristics of Gerolsteiner mineral water are due to its originating in the Volcanic Eifel. A mineral water of outstanding quality can develop here due to the particular combination of carbonic acid of volcanic origin and dolomite rock rich in minerals.
