Following ARTISTS a trail is an adventure and who knows what MAKERS treasures you might find.” Jessica Zoob, Artist TRAILS & Welcome to Artwave, our annual festival of artists and makers across the Lewes district. This edition offers you even more than ever, with seven different trails to follow with over 500 artists; an Art on Film feature and our Stay Longer pages with top tips of other places to visit in the area. You will see plenty of returning artists and venues this year, but we also welcome new ones and new partner sponsors too. We are delighted to be working with Brighton & Hove Buses and Compass Travel and encourage you to take the bus or train to get around the festival where possible. Artwave is managed and supported by Lewes District Council, but it wouldn’t be possible without the kind sponsorship from our supporters and entry fees from venues and advertisers to cover the costs. Artwave is proudly put together by a fabulous team who hope you enjoy all that is on offer this year. “My aim is to encourage and affirm wildlife conservation throughout the district and I invite you to enjoy the diversity of art on offer in our natural world, in particular in Lewes Railway Land and at Castle Hill nature reserves. I hope you get some time in our wonderful open spaces during your visit and if not, come back and visit again!” Councillor Stephen Gauntlett, Chair of Lewes District Council Artwave was brought to you by Jackie Blackwell, Manager for Tourism and Arts, Lewes District Council Charlotte Parsons, Artwave Co-ordinator charlotteparsons.co.uk Carlotta Luke, Designer and Photographer (brochure) carlottaluke.com Peter Bushell, Designer (maps) peterbushell.co.uk Helen Browning-Smith, Artwave Assistant, Lewes District Council Volunteers: Liza Mackintosh, Nick Cannan, Corina Buckwell, Shannon Sait, Emma Herian Front cover art: Victor Stuart-Graham victorstuartgraham.com Keep up to date with all the latest Artwave news online at artwavefestival.org and follow us on Twitter and Instagram @artwavefestival.
