City College of New York Architecture Library Toshiko Mori: Selected Bibliography “Blurring the Boundaries” Spitzer School of Architecture Lecture – November 10, 2011 About: In 1981 Toshiko Mori founded the NYC-based firm Toshiko Mori Architect where she is principal. She earned her BArch from Cooper Union and an honorary master’s from Harvard’s GSD. Her firm’s projects are varied including civic, institutional, cultural, residential, museum and exhibition design work. Mori taught at Cooper Union from 1983 until 1995 when she left to join the Harvard GSD where she is now the Robert P. Hubbard Professor in the Practice of Architecture, following a tenure as chair of Harvard’s Department of Architecture from 2002-2008. In 2003 Mori received the Cooper Union Inaugural John Hejduk Award. In 2005, she earned an Academy Award in Architecture from the American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the Medal of Honor from the New York City chapter of the AIA. She is an advisor to A+U, serves on Cooper Union’s President’s Council, and chairs the World Economic Forum's Global Agenda Council on Design.
