BURNSVILLE, MN 55337 4/06 R2-0848 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 1. LOWER THE EXHAUST BY DISCONNECTING THE HANGER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. NOTE: IF THE VEHICLE IS EQUIPPED WITH A LOAD-LEVELING DEVICE ON THE DRIVER SIDE, LOWER THE UNIT BY REMOVING THE 10MM BOLT AND TWO 6MM NUTS. 2. MOUNT THE HITCH TO THE BOTTOM OF THE FRAME MEMBERS BY THREADING FOUR 10MM BOLTS PROVIDED INTO THE TWO EXISTING WELDNUTS ON EACH SIDE. THESE BOLTS WILL BE REMOVED LATER AND RE-INSTALLED. 3. USE THE HITCH AS A TEMPLATE AND DRILL A 1/2" HOLE AT THE MOST REARWARD MOUNTING POINT ON EACH FRAME MEMBER. USE THE FISHWIRE PROVIDED TO PULL A CARRIAGE BOLT AND BLOCK PLATE THROUGH THE ACCESS HOLE IN THE SIDE OF EACH FRAME AND INTO THE DRILLED HOLES. SECURE EACH WITH A FLAT WASHER, LOCK WASHER, AND NUT. 4.4.4. 2004 & OLDER LONG WHEELBASE: USE THE HITCH AS A TEMPLATE AND DRILL A 1/2" HOLE IN THE FRAME AT THE MOST FORWARD MOUNTING POINT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. USE THE FISHWIRE PROVIDED TO PULL A CARRIAGE BOLT AND BLOCK PLATE THROUGH THE ACCESS HOLE IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FRAME AND INTO THE DRILLED HOLE. SECURE WITH A FLAT WASHER, LOCK WASHER, AND NUT. 2004 & OLDER SHORT WHEELBASE: USE THE EXISTING HOLE IN THE FRAME TO ATTACH THE HITCH AT THE MOST FORWARD MOUNTING POINT ON PASSENGER SIDE. USE ONE OF THE 1/2" THICK SPACER BLOCKS BETWEEN THE HITCH AND THE RAISED FRAME SECTION. INSERT THE MOUNTING BOLT AND BLOCK PLATE AS PER THE LONG WHEELBASE INSTRUCTIONS ABOVE. 2005 & NEWER, SHORT AND LONG WHEELBASE: THE FORWARD MOUNTING POINT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE WILL ALIGN WITH AN EXISTING WELDNUT IN THE FRAME. INSTALL A 10MM BOLT WITH A CONICAL WASHER TO MOUNT VEHICLE FENDER SUPPORT BAR (IF PRESENT) AND HITCH SIDE BRACKET. 5.5.5. REMOVE THE FOUR 10MM BOLTS INSTALLED IN STEP 2 AS NECESSARY TO RE-MOUNT THE EXHAUST AND REPLACE THE LOAD-LEVELING DEVICE (IF EQUIPPED). USE ONE OF THE CONICAL WASHERS SUPPLIED ON EACH BOLT. ON AWD MODELS, PASS THE EXHAUST HANGER THROUGH THE SLOT IN THE HITCH SIDE BRACKET, INSERT THE TWO 1/2 X 1-1/4 X 2" SPACER BLOCKS BETWEEN THE HANGER AND THE HITCH, AND SECURE WITH THE 10MM BOLTS. TRIM OR DRILL THE LOAD-LEVELING COMPRESSOR BRACKET AS NECESSARY. 6. TIGHTEN ALL FASTENERS TO THE APPROPRIATE TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS STATED ON THE MAIN ILLUSTRATION PAGE.
