2018‐2019 Home School Annual Report Trish Wilcox and Josh Mesker Home School Program Advisors Updated January 2, 2020 TABLE OF CONTENTS Introduction ......................................................................................................... 1 Home School Count by County ......................................................................... 2 Home School Student GED Count by County .................................................. 4 Home School Percentage Count by District ................................................... ..6 Home School Student Count by District ......................................................... 13 Home School Student GED Count by District .............................................. ..19 Update 1-2-20: In response to an inquiry regarding the section on Home Schooled Percentage by District, errors were found in the calculations of the original report. The Percentage report (P.6) has been updated, however the reports containing reference to Grade Level require more maintenance within the Notice of Intent Online System. Those sections have been removed from this report until a solution can be deployed. Updated 1-2-20 Introduction Our goal at the Division of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) Home School office is to support partnerships between the home school community, school districts, and stakeholders. This report is to provide statistical data and information based on current home school numbers in Arkansas. The calculation and analysis of data is dependent on information self-reported by parents during the notice of intent process. During the summer of 2018, a new online system for submitting intents to home school was released. The collection of data and information from this system drives the reports that we produce. Please be patient as we adapt our reporting process to correlate with the new system. As reports evolve, we hope you will find them more organized, easier to read, and more informative.
