ALAN SAMPSON BIOGRAPHY Alan Sampson burst on to the production scene in 2008, working with Jay Sean on his album ‘My Own Way’, co- writing and producing three singles from the album: ‘Ride It’, ‘Maybe’ and ‘Stay’, as well as the lead single from Jay’s next album, titled ‘Far Away’ (featuring Keisha Buchanan). Over the next few years Alan established himself across pop and R’n’B, always bringing his fresh slant on the genres, injecting originality and excitement into all his production work. In the studio, Alan is that rare breed – as well as playing drums, keys, bass and guitar, he can write lyric and melody, and can also engineer and produce. For a few years he worked as a vocal producer with Rishi Rich, perfecting his vocal recording technique. He works fast without losing any detail, and that fluidity translates into exciting, visceral productions that demand repeat listens. Two of Alan’s produced songs featured on ex-One Direction member ZAYN’s debut album (‘Drunk’ and ‘She’), he co-wrote and produced ‘Louder Than Words’ for Craig David, and his song with Rita Ora, ‘Kiss Me Where It Hurts’ was featured in the film 50 Shades Of Grey’. He also co-wrote and provided additional production for the single ‘Let Me’ by ZAYN, and produced singles for Donel (the single ‘Bang Like A Drum’), Taya ft. Lotto Boyz (the single ‘Skin’), and GRACEY (the single ‘Different Things’). In 2019 his song ‘Ride It’ was re-released by DJ Regard and had huge chart success in multiple territories, including a #2 chart position in the UK, which was followed in 2020 by his co-write and production of ‘Catch Me Outside’ for B Young.
