Born in Tlemcem in Algeria, Didi belongs to a traditional musical genre nourished with popular poetry. His verses of great finesse evoke the themes of love, nostalgia, social situations, the passion for his country and exile. The intensity of Fouad Didi’s voice, supported by a rare instrumental mastery, transcends this culture to attain the highest summits of interpretation. The instruments used by his Tarab Orchestra, violin, viola, kouotra, mandoline, derbourka and CD : De l’Andalou au Hawzy târ, are those of the traditional orchestras of medieval Andalusia.
