Concrete has been poured on buildings B, C, and D. Last week building A was filled with concrete and Building E will be next. Concrete paving will then be poured around all the pads to prepare to go vertical. Plumbing for all buildings in Roanoke have been installed underground. Over the next month you can expect visual progress on building A. Once rebar is installed, concrete will be poured on building A. Frisco has finished pad injecting and is now focused on installing storm drains and getting permeant power to the site. Site utilities are planned to be installed this month. Plumbing will be installed underneath the ground in the coming weeks, and, once plumbing installation is complete, the pads will be prepared with rebar for concrete to be poured. SEE OUR CALENDAR OF EVENTS ON THE ROAD - LOOKBACK WITH JACK This summer has been particularly nostalgic, especially beginning with the always interesting and fun Cars & Coffee at Classic BMW in Plano. Along with our usual group of friends we loved visiting with about our Garage projects, I especially enjoyed visiting with the owner of the Jaguar XJ220, an ultra-rare supercar of the early 90's. Jaguar built only 275 examples in response to the Porsche 959 and the Ferrari F40 of previous years, and it brought back memories of my experience in the mid-80s when contracting for a 959S (the Sport version of the road going 959), which was attempted to be imported the the US under the race car exclusion provision of the DOT which had prevented the importation of the 959. This XJ220, with a top speed of around 212 mph one upped both Porsche and Ferrari for top speed honors. So, a rare opportunity to see an example in person was very special. Now, the big one! A few weekends later was the running of the famous 24 hrs of Le Mans, a race in which I participated both in 1984 & 1985. Talk about a serious case of deja vu!! The race course has changed quite a bit since the old days when I ran, but still enough the same to relive so much of the incredible high speeds and excitement that I well remember. It was truly an experience of a lifetime and seeing the great coverage on television allowed me to have those yesteryear thoughts in the comfort of my man-cave garage with several friends. Our friend Nick Boulle competed for the first time and had a fantastic result of 12th overall and 8th in his class. Every year my Le Mans driving partner (M. L. Speer) and I commit to attend the next years race and reunite with ex- drivers in the Le Mans Club des Pilotes des 24 Heures du Mans, the Association for drivers who have competed at Le Mans over the years. Maybe next year. Need a Mancave? Become an owner of your own luxury Garage Suite today. This is a solution for now… an investment for the future. Contact Us !
