Each Wof you probably has your own recollection of the 2000 election and its impact on your life. Although I was pretty young then, I did have the opportunity at the end of my clerkship with Justice Pariente to spend time going through her papers from Bush v. Gore. (Please see below for an explanation on the use of Florida Supreme Court “Bush v. Gore” to characterize the 2000 Photo by The Workmans Historical Society election.) Through that experience, I came wearetheworkmans.com FALL / WINTER 2020 to understand and appreciate the amount of effort that the Supreme Court of Florida—the Justices, the law clerks, Central Staff, the Clerk’s EDITOR Office, the Public Information Office, and everyone else—expended in Melanie Kalmanson those days. It is an honor to commemorate those 36 days with this issue. EDITORIAL ASSISTANCE If, after reading, you want more Bush v. Gore, I recommend Jonathan F. Claussen • Thomas D.
