Flight plays hard‐core modern jazz with roots in the American Jazz tradition and interprets original material composed by the band members in addition to some specially arranged jazz classics. THE BAND: Hallgeir Pedersen (b. 1973) is a jazz guitarist of the highest caliber, playing with unbelievable dexterity and musical timing, producing both power and warmth while really ”singing” through his intrument. Ivar Antonsen (b. 1946) is finally coming home after spending 19 years in the USA, being a household name in the American jazz society. His playing can be described as incredible dynamic and sensitive, harmonically advanced as he unleashes his unlimited musical fantasy. Bjørn Alterhaug (b. 1943) is a master among European bass players and a personal favorite amongs ”who is who” in jazz. His beautiful lines reflect his strong knowledge of harmony as he always contributes with great taste, power and safety. Roger Johansen (b. 1972) has marked himself as one of the brightest stars among Scandinavian jazz drummers in the American jazz tradition. His ability to support and contribute at the same time is a rare gift, as he is master of all tempos.
