(Look at the word. Say the word. Cover the word. Write the word and finally check the word. Ask a family member to test you. Complete at least 6 spellings from the word cards on the following pages. Phonics: Focus on the sounds ‘ow’ and ‘oi’. Practise spelling and writing the words in the phonic word lists. Play phonic splat – write the words onto pieces of paper and lay out on the floor. Adult to say one of the words and child to ‘splat’ the word using a fly swatter, wooden spoon, spatula or the child can jump on the word. Spot ‘ow’ and ‘oi’ words in your reading books.
