Ash Network Report 2019

ASH NETWORK REPORT MARCH 2019 After running successful Networks in Cranleigh, Farnham and Haslemere and having secured some money from the Big Lottery to establish a "Joining In" project in Ash, Voluntary Action South West Surrey felt that (as part of the project) it would be beneficial to bring back the ‘old’ Ash Network meetings that were previously run by Surrey County Council. When the funding for Ash ‘Joining In’ came to an end it was decided that it would be a shame to stop the Network Meetings and so the local Volunteer Development of our local VASWS was asked to continue running them three times a year. VASWS runs the meetings, but we do receive free room hire from Ash Victoria Hall - without this we would ask for a donation of £3 per person to cover costs - in line with the other Networks that we run. The meetings are open to anyone who works in the area, this includes local Voluntary Organisations, Charities and local businesses (who are community minded), or anyone looking to set up a project in the area or share the work they are doing locally. The idea is to raise awareness of what is going on in Ash and the surrounding areas and to encourage joint working amongst all the different agencies. These meeting provide opportunities for many different schemes, Clubs and Organisations to keep in touch and up-to-speed. As the APC Representative I am then able to convey this information to the Parish Clerk, which is an ideal opportunity for the Parish Council to be aware of local information.
