I have been an Oak Ridge resident since 1949. I was a stay-at-home mom until my youngest child started school. At that time I returned to college briefly and began to teach mathematics. Subsequently I attended UT during several summers earning a Masters degree in Mathematics. I taught at several area schools. I was the longest at Powell High School where I was Chairman of the Mathematics Department. After retirement I taught several semesters at Roane State Community College. My family and I have taken part in many Oak Ridge activities. For many years I was a volunteer reader of mathematics text books at Recording for the Blind. I also was a volunteer at ADFAC. My husband swims at the Civic Center pool and was involved with the mentally disabled. I was a singer in the Atomic City Sweet Adelines for many years. My husband and I are players in the Oak Ridge Duplicate Bridge Center in Grove Center. I enjoy the waterfront and frequently sit there and enjoy the scenery and watching the rowers. My son enjoys the bicycle paths and walking on the Greenways. I have had a continuous interest in the cultivation of cultural activities and in the diversification of our city.
