BSS - Engineer Vacancy Application Deadline: January 10, 2017 Number of Vacancies: 1 Position Location: Bosaso, Puntland, Somalia. Duration: 1 year contract with possible extension. Job Description: Golis Telecom Somalia has an opening for a BSS engineer at Golis Bosaso, who will provide operation and maintenance toward BSS Network elements. The selected candidate will monitor, Maintain, troubleshoot, and escalate to a higher tier network and system issues. Candidate is expected to work non-working hours (night shifts and late hours) with on-call availability 24 x 7. Specific Role and Responsibilities: • Handle BSS Network related projects and activities. • First level site maintenance, fault troubleshooting, intimation, • Traffic statistics analysis of radio network. • Perform periodic systems backup and secure archive files. • Troubleshoot BSS related Faults and provide technical solutions for different software & Hardware problems. • Implement all required configurations for BSCs,RNCs,NodeBs,EnodeBs • Monitor the BSS Network KPI and reporting it. • Prepare daily, weekly and monthly system performance & activities report. • Doing 2G, 3G and 4G drive test job by using Tems investigation tool. • Generating coverage reports using MapInfo and the planning tools like Asset tools. Requirements: • Qualifications: Degree in Telecommunication Engineering /Electrical & Electronics. • 2-5 years’ experience in similar or related position. • Networking certifications CCNA and CCNP are highly preferable. • Basic knowledge in GSM, 2G, 3G, and 4G, SS7, SIGTRAN , TCP IP, Diameter and related protocols. • Good knowledge of network topology, traffic handling capabilities and traffic characteristics. • Excellent English: verbal and written communication skills • Highly motivated and willing to grow with the company. .
