Cullinan Cullinan, named after Sir Thomas Cullinan, bears the distinction of being the site of discovery of the world’s largest diamond. Cullinan and the Premier Mine was originally part of the “Cornelius Minnaar Farm”, Elandsfontein 85, registered in 1859. A portion of the farm was sold to Willem Prinsloo in 1896 which was later sold to Thomas Cullinan
