New ways is currently implementing Nutrition projects with UNICEF and WFP and Integrated emergency Nutrition projects supported by SHF in Barawe, Qoryoley and Kunturwarey districts respectively. The nutrition project of WFP has ended in Feb 2018 and New ways is expecting the extension of the project in March 2018. TSFP supported by WFP admitted 2743 out of which 1459 were girls and 1284 were boys. TSFP total admissions were 4822 out of which 2829 were girls and 1983 were boys. Children under 5 supported by UNICEF SC admitted 23. SHF admitted 221 boys 231 girls in Qoryoley. 170 boys and 171 girls were screened during this month. Referral complicated cases, Barawe 41 under 5 and 213 PLW micronutrient. Qoryoley 21 under 5 and 158 PLW micronutrients. SAMA SOMALIA NUTRITION CLUSTER Working in 7 OTP and 2 SC Total admission in the 7 OTP sites are 281 out of which 274 were cured. Total admission in the 2 SC sites are 125 out of which 124 were cured. We have enough supply BTSC Operating in Burhakaba District. Projected Health and WASH New admission 184 and 175 old case 3 Oedema cases. BPPSC Work with IYCF in Bay, Bakool and Lower Shabelle. Partners – Baidoa, AYDO and BRF we deal community base and mother for mother support group and group screening. SOYDA OTP Admission were 350 out of which 180 were discharged. TSFP 550 admitted and 340 of them were discharged. BSFP 605 were admitted and 310 were discharged. Heath mobilization in everyday and IYCF mother to mother. BHNC For five MCHs we have only screening. Number of screened were 1250. 70 have been referred to Main Bay Regional Hospital while 1180 were normal. SOS 7 IDP and 1 fixed Health and Nutrition center in Baidoa. OTP old cases 449 and 129 New admission and 578 total. Total discharge 199 in February. Referral 3 cases to Save Children SC. PLW 16 new admission and there is no old cases TSFP old cases are 118 and 273 new admission and 391. Referral TSFP to OTP were 7 cases. Only 7 were discharged from the program. IYCF session is 20 sessions and the people We researched behavior change is 1207 people in February 2018. Plumpy sup we have received in January. Community nutrition satisfaction is ongoing. Mother to mother activities is ongoing. Food cooking or food demonstration is ongoing. URRO Working in 4 OTPs namely Qansaxdhere, Durey Korinbood and Buulafuur, 3 of those OTPs are mobile and 1 OTP is fixed. 233 U5 childen were screened. 94 were SAM and 233 children were MAM. There were no discharge or cured because no supply there in URRO stock. SOMALIA NUTRITION CLUSTER Totally there is no supply specially RUFT but waiting from supply Unicef and hopefully soon will be available SARD Is operating in 3 fixed and 2 mobile OTP centers. The 3 fixed OTP centres are Sheble, Godgi Auiidow and Hubsoy The 2 mobile OTP centers are Barabuule and Dambaale. In February we were able to screen 438 children under 5 in all 5 sites. 179 of them were new admission, 180 were cured, 5 Odeama, 16 were treated from measles cases, 4 suspected whooping cough. The New admissions of severe malnutrition is increasing day after day because of water shortage in the Burhakaba District. All 5 OTP sites are operational and all SC patients are transferred to BTSC. We have enough supply for the 5 sites. SHADA Operating Diinsor District health centers, we have SC. Heath and WASH, so we received referral from GREDO Agency working in Diinsor District. So far we have no supplies right now. Supply received in last year 2017 so probably we are in gab almost We request supply and SHF fund. IMC we are doing nutrition screening ( 1 fixed health facility and 5 IDP camps as I mentioned by Service mapping ) and we referred SAM (7) and MAM (12) while others refused to refer usually we refer the nearest health facility if it is OTP Darussalam WVI SC for SCI or BRH, and BSFP for DMO. The total number of screened children were 654 with 591 normal, Bilateral odeama 0, SAM 13, and MAM 50. PASOS We are screening children in Mooda Mooda and Salmisge and we refer them to BTSC OTPs in Burhakhabo district. We don’t active PCA. BTSC Operating in Burhakaba District and Operating in 3 fcilities 1 MCH/OTP/OPD and 2 Mobile OTPs in Goof and Dhowey. BTSC is running Health Nutrition and WASH New admission 184 and 175 old case 3 Oedema cases. BTSC WASH and Health programs are in gaps. Burhakaba district faced huge water crisis as the district’s main water supplies dried up and not enough water in the district. SCI/MOH SOMALIA NUTRITION CLUSTER During the month of Feb. 2018, SCI/MOH is running nutrition activities in four mobile sites of OTP/TSFP and two fixed site of OTPs/TSFPs as well as one stabilization centre in the town. The admission trends on February 2018 for OTPs are 769, while 2 of them were oedema,7 referred from SC after complications stabilized, at the same time 5 transferred to SC Sahal Macalin Isse We also admitted for TSFPs 1306, out of 239 were PLW, while transferred to OTPs 25 under five children Meanwhile the stabilization centre admitted in February 2018 were 71 with 40 male and 31 female. In addition SCI/MOH staff under GAC project have conducted Mother - to – Mother support services were emphasized with an aim to encourage and give chances to discuss and share Ideas and experiences towards IYCF to receive and give support to each other. We also conducted father – to – father support teaching sessions. A total of 60 participants benefited from the IYCF sessions of which 30 were mothers while the other 30 were fathers separate meeting. CCC CCC is working in Berdale district Bay region, implementing integrated program OTP/EPI both for Berdale district and Habare MCH/OTP in Baidoa district in addition to that CCC is running 3 OTP fixed sites and 4 mobile sites in above mentioned district, CCC new admission 345 cases, old cases in program 432, Cured 23 cases, in February 2018, therefore CCC is managing 7 HPs and District cold chain maintenance in Berdale district of Bay region a s w ell as IYCF /NHHP sessions were among the activity , hence CCC EPI team in Berdale MCH town were participating as voluntarily base Measles comparing that conducted by WHO and all vials vaccines were kept at CCC cold chain in Berdale MCH GREDO All our Nutrition activities are active and working 14 OTP/TSFP and 1 SC. OTP Old cases 2380 new OTP admission are 1161 , cured 792 TSFP old cases 3739 new cases are 1501 cured 135 and PLW old cases 239 and PLW new admission 309 cured 15 Bardaale SC old cases 28 new admission 56 Oedema 3 cured 57 Died 1 defaulter 2 and 1 was sent to OTP IYCF promotion 3664 female 82 male Nutrition Responses, The biggest challenges faced are lack Nutrition, FSL and . Gaps and Challenges WASH programmes in satellite areas which contributed to high influx of IDPs Water crisis in Baidoa may lead to malnutrition and health related problems in IDP camps due to water tracking facing out. Majority of the food security partners exhausted their funds in December 2017. There are fears that this may lead to high numbers of malnutrition cases in Baidoa IDPs. SOMALIA NUTRITION CLUSTER Integrated Nutrition/Health mobile teams required in immediate effect since the number of IDP camps increased from 261 to 323 as per CCCM report.
