10.06.2021 GOVERNMENT OF GOA DIRECTORATE OF FIRE & EMERGENCY SERVICES A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF THE EMERGENCY INCIDENTS ATTENDED DURING THE CYCLONE TAUKTAE 15.05.2021 to 31.05.2021 The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for coastal Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra and Gujarat for 15.05.2021 due to the severe cyclonic storm Tauktae in the Arabian Sea. It had also issued an Orange Code warning for North & South Goa with Heavy to Very Heavy rainfall and squally winds with speed reaching 50-60 kmph gusting to 80 -100 kmph along & off North & South Goa. The Directorate of Fire & Emergency Services as a proactive measure had briefed all the Fire Stations across the State on 15.05.21 to be in state readiness for any eventuality for Search, Rescue, Uprooting of Tree and other incidents. The Fire Stations which has been decentralised into 3 zones viz; South Zone, Central Zone and North Zone across Goa having all the minimum required Disaster Management equipment’s in tackling the aftermath of the Cyclonic wind effectively. The Directorate, during the period of two weeks ie. from 15.05.21 to 31.05.21, has received 1443 Emergency Calls pertaining to uprooting of various trees such as Mango, Banyan, Nilgiri, 1 Casurina, Gulmohar, Tamrind, Jackfruit etc. on Major district roads, Highways, Residential Houses, Electrical Transformers, Electrical poles/lines etc. 1443 Emergency Calls have been attended across the State of Goa. The Mapusa Fire Station attended the most number of emergency calls of 217, followed by Fire Force Headquarters at 180 and Vasco Fire Station at 148. Villagewise Heat Map of Emergency Calls attended w.e.f 15th to 31nd May 2021 2 NORTH ZONE 1. Fire Force Headquarters being the logistic center have attended 180 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of Calapor, Renovadi, Siridao, Curca, Batim, Panaji, Taleigao, Cujira, Bambolim, Murda , Morambi O Grande, Chimbel, Panelim, Caraim, Ambarim, Durgavado ,Morambi O Pequeno. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 3 lakhs and the property saved is Rs. 1.6 lakhs. 2. Panaji Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within Tiswadi Taluka have attended 90 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of Calapor, Renovadi, Siridao, Curca, Batim, Panaji, Taleigao, Cujira, Bambolim, Murda, Morambi O Grande, Chimbel, Panelim, Caraim, Ambarim, Durgavado ,Morambi O Pequeno. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 3.4 lakhs and the property saved is Rs. 15 lakhs. 3. Pernem Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within Pernem Taluka have attended 90 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of Agarvado, Dargalim, Morgim, Varconda, Ambarim, Mopa, Virnora, Ibrampur, Tiracol, Mandrem, Arambol, Paliem, Querim, Corgao, Uguem, Pernem, Poroscodem, Casnem, Tamboxem, Torxem, Chandel, Cansarvornem, Alorna, Ozorim, Chopdem, Parcem, Tuem. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 26 lakhs and the property saved is Rs. 42 lakhs. 3 4. Mapusa Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within North of Bardez Taluka have attended 217 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of Bastora, Ponolem ,Tivim ,Sircaim ,Moitem, Siolim, Verla, Nagoa, Parra, Anjuna, Assagao, Marna, Oxel, Paliem, Nachinola, Aldona, Corjuem, Olaulim, Ucassaim, Moira, Guirim, Punola, Canca, Mapusa, Colvale, Pirna, Camurlim, Revora, Nadora, Calvim. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 30 lakhs and the property saved is Rs. 62 lakhs. 5. Pilerne Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within South of Bardez Taluka have attended 66 emergency incident calls in the Villages of Socorro, Penha De Franca, Candolim, Calangute, Arpora, Marra, Sangolda, Saligao, Pilerne, Reis Magos, Nerul, Salvador Do Mundo, Pomburpa. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 95 lakhs and the property saved is Rs.21 lakhs. 6. Vasco Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within Mormugao Taluka have attended 148 calls in the Municipal and Villages of Velsao, Cuelim, Dabolim, Arossim, Chicolna, Sancoale, Cansaulim, Issorcim, Pale, Chicalim, Vasco ,Sao Jacinto Island. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 17 lakhs and the property saved is Rs. 60 lakhs. 4 5 Tree fallen on Residential Government Quarters at Bambolim Tree fallen on Transformer near TB Hospital in Bhatlem, Panaji. 6 Tree fallen on Primary Health Centre at Colvale. Tree fallen on Electrical Lines near Kamlabai Bar & Resturant at Canca Bardez Goa. 7 Mango Tree fallen on Electrical Pole and Lines Near St. Thomas Boys School at Aldona Bardez Goa Tree fallen on Electrical line and Road Near St.Thomas High School at Aldona Bardez Goa 8 Mango tree fallen on Electrical line & road at Sakhar Bhat Aldona Bardez Goa Tree fallen on Electrical line & road at Parra near Ganesh Temple, Bardez, Goa 9 CENTRAL ZONE 1. Ponda Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within Ponda & Dharbandora Taluka have attended 112 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of Betora, Codar, Cormonem, Colem, Dharbandora, Moissal, Molem, Piliem, Sancordem, Sonauli, Sangod, Sigao, Surla, Camarconda, Codli, Aglote, Bandoli, Caranzol, Usgao, Gancem, Querim, Telaulim, Bandora, Queula, Vadi, Durbhat, Borim, Siroda, Ponchavadi, Candepar, Curti, Ponda, Nirancal, Conxem. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 3 lakhs and the property saved is Rs.5 lakhs. 2. Old Goa Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within East of Tiswadi Taluka have attended 97 emergency incident calls in the Villages of Capao, Azossim, Neura O Pequeno, Goa Velha, Mercurim, Neura O Grande, Mandur, Naroa, Malar, Navelim, Gandaulim, Goltim, Talaulim, Bainguinim, Goalim Moula, Gancim, Corlim, Ella, Carambolim, Cumbarjua, Jua. The property damaged is estimated on approximately Rs. 6 lakhs and property saved is Rs.14 lakhs. 3. Kundaim Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within North West of Ponda Taluka have attended 50 emergency incident calls in the Villages of Savoi Verem, Betqui, Cuncoliem, Vagurbem, Tivrem, Adcolna, Candola, Orgao, Volvoi, Cundaim, Boma, Priol, Marcaim, Velinga. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 13 lakhs and the property saved is Rs.8 lakhs. 4. Bicholim Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within Ponda & Dharbandora Taluka have attended 52 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of 10 Adwalpale, Naroa, Pale, Velguem, Carapur, Sarvona, Latambarcem, Curchirem, Lamgao, Sirigao, Mulgao, Adwapale, Arvalem, Aturli, Bicholim, Bordem, Cotombi, Cudnem, Maulinguem South, Maem, Maulinguem North, Navelim, Piligao, Surla, Virdi, Ona, Vainguinim, Mencurem, Dumacem, Salem, Cassabe De Sanquelim. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 5 lakhs and the property saved is Rs.14 lakhs. 5. Valpoi Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within Sattari Taluka have attended 25 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of Morlem, Podocem, Querim, Ravona, Gonteli, Siroli, Naneli, Ivrem, Golauli, Sanvorcem, Velguem, The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 1.5 lakhs and the property saved is Rs. 5 lakhs. 11 Tree fallen on Road at Bethora, Ponda 12 SOUTH ZONE 1. Margao Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within Sattari Taluka have attended 129 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of Talvorda, Veroda, Dramapur, Sirlim, Duncolim, Chinchinim, Sernabatim, Paroda, Cavorim, Deussua, Talaulim, Davorlim, Colva, Seraulim, Rachol, Varca, Sarzora, Sao Jose De Areal, Mulem, Calata, Cuncolim, Cavelossim, Carmona, Benaulim, Vanelim, Cana, Adsulim, Gaundaulim, Betalbatim, Orlim, Camurlim, Curtorim, Raia, Chandor, Navelim, Aquem, Margao, Dicarpale, Velim, Macasana, Ambelim, Guirdolim, Assolna. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 8 lakhs and the property saved is Rs.43 lakhs. 2. Verna Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within North of Salcete Taluka have attended 66 emergency incident calls in the Villages of Nagoa, Utorda, Loutulim, Majorda, Verna, Nuvem, Gonsua, Cortalim, Quelossim. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 8 lakhs and the property saved is Rs. 26 lakhs. 3. Curchorem Fire Station having jurisdiction of areas within Sattari Taluka have attended 63 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of Maulinguem, Molcarnem, Viliena, Colomba,Curdi, Nundem, Naquerim,Molcopona, Verlem, Naiquinim, Xelpem, Rumbrem ,Costi, Dudal,Dongurli, Cazur, Corla,Quitol, Morpila, Fatorpa, Bali, Vichundrem, Tiloi, Netorli, Ambaulim, Adnem, Cotombi, Quepem, Amona, Avedem, Cusmane, Xeldem, Zanodem, Cavorem, Bendordem, Nagvem, Cordem, Quedem, Chaifi, Cacora, Undorna, Sirvoi, Barcem, Deao, Muguli, Antoriem, Bati, Boma, Calem, Coranginim, Comproi, Oxel, Cotarli, Cumbari, Dongor, Curpem, Patiem, Portem, 13 Potrem, Rivona ,Sanvordem, Salauli, Sanguem, Santona, Sigonem, Tudou, Uguem, Maina, Pirla, Padi, Quisconda, Gocoldem, Sulcorna, Mangal, Curchorem, Assolda, Xelvona, Odar, Xic Xelvona. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 4.6 lakhs and the property saved is Rs. 13 lakhs. 4. Canacona Fire Stations having jurisdiction of areas within Sattari Taluka have attended 58 emergency incident calls in the Municipal and Villages of Agonda, Nagorcem Palolem, Gaodongrem, Loliem, Canacona, Poinguinim, Cola, Cotigao, Chaudi. The property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 3.5 lakhs and the property saved is Rs.6.6 lakhs. 14 Coconut Tree fallen on House behind Meat Complex, Gandhi Market, Margao 15 Tree fallen on Electrical Line at Bivsa, Cuncolim Tree fallen on Electrical Line and Road at Balli, Quepem The priority for response was given to clearing of uprooted trees fallen and blocking Major district roads & Highways, Residential houses, electrical transformers & electrical poles/lines. A total of 242 Fire Fighting Personnel across the 15 Fire Stations in the State have been working round the clock for the past seven days to ensure that the Citizens get the required help in such eventuality. On account of the severe cyclone Tauktae the property damaged is estimated approximately Rs. 2.27 Crores and the property saved is Rs. 3.36 Crores. 16 .
