BOSE ROAD, KOLKATA -7000020 Nandan, West Bengal Film Centre was opened on 2nd September, 1985 under the aegis of the Department of Information & Cultural Affairs, Government of West Bengal for promotion of lm and lm culture. In the words of Late Satyajit Ray, the eminent lm maker from Bengal and the rst Chairman of Nandan; “the Centre would concern itself with all aspects of cinema”. Functions : As an art house for release of quality lms and organising lm festivals, retrospectives, children's lm shows, documentaries etc. to serve the requirements of Film clubs/ Societies for their screenings and other programmes and regular screenings of movies at Nandan I & II auditoriums. Objective : Nandan concentrates on cinema as a subject of study and as a cultural movement and endeavours to preserve cinema of signicance in its archives. Its library is constantly being enriched with collection of books and periodicals on cinema which is open to all lm lovers. Adi Bose used that prosthetic makeup of those criminals and commits the same crime like them for which they have been accused. In between these incidents, somehow Vincida`s & his love interest Jaya`s life also get affected by those incidents and he gradually comes out from the criminal shadow of Adi Bose. Synopsis : Mukherjee Dar Bou is a story based on a modern dysfunctional family revolving around the complex and intricate yet caring relationship between a mother-in-law and a daughter-in-law. Synopsis : Unable to cope with the trauma of being 'betrayed' by his teacher Subhash da, Porimal, a trans gender, runs away from home and joins a ghetto of eunuchs as Puti and sings at trafc signals to earn money. There he falls in love with Madhu, a delivery boy with a Chinese restaurant who moonlights as a autist in kirtans. Their love blossoms while they dream of raising money required for the sex surgery after meeting the rst transgender person in India. But the commoners do not support their dreams. Puti is arrested and commits suicide by hanging herself with her towel inside the lock up at a police station. Eventually, Madhu joins the same ghetto of eunuchs. Cast : Swasta Chatterjee , Raima Sen ,Ritwick Chakraborty Synopsis : TARIKH explores the mundane, yet exquisite nature of human bonds, through the everyday lives of three friends, and shows how social media affects their lives. Anirban, a professor and an idealist, teaches his students to protest by debating, not vandalizing, and uses social media to inspire. Ira, his wife, is a conformist addicted to social media. Rudrangshu, their old friend, is a sanguine realist, and plays the role of a friend to them. When Anirban dies suddenly, Ira tries to keep him alive by talking to him through messages on facebook. She goes through his facebook posts, and touches a side of Anirban that she had made no effort to understand when he was alive. The story revolves around this piquant situation . Indrajit has come to Ballabhpur after ten long years. It seems to him that his native place, his village of Ballabhpur has gone through a tremendous change because of which he is unable to relate to the people and places as he used to. He gets nostalgic and can almost see how these ten years has brought out a change not only in his surroundings, but also in himself. The story unveils with the journey of Indrajit the eldest son (JYESTHOPUTRO) endeavouring to nd his own self. Her father wants to get her married, but her unassuming nature leads to a lot of rejections. Eventually, a respected family from Kolkata agree to an arrangement, but upon one strange condition: the would-be bride should know how to knit a sweater. Tuku is sent to a relative's house to learn knitting, but here, she undergoes a transformation courtesy,the interesting friends she makes and Shammo, the impressionist she falls in love with. Will a reformed Tuku be condent enough to stand up for herself? Well, we have to wait till the end of the lm. She specializes in traditional Bengali cuisine while Aren is a master of Bangladeshi dishes. The duo meets and discovers love through their shared passion for food and cooking. The lm is as much about love as it is about life's struggles and explores why and how our religious identities get blurred when there are so many inspiring stories around us.
