FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Business Leaders for Michigan 313-259-5400 BLM Website Updated to Reflect House Candidates’ Level of Support for Plan to Build a New Michigan DETROIT, Mich., July 22, 2016 —In preparation for the state’s August 2 primary election, the Business Leaders for Michigan Political Action Committee II today released an updated section of the Business Leaders for Michigan (BLM) website which details how candidates for the Michigan House of Representatives align with the Plan to Build a New Michigan and announced support for candidates in several open primaries. “We encourage all Michigan voters to visit our website and see how candidates in their area align with BLM’s Building a New Michigan plan – our holistic, fact-based strategy developed to make Michigan a “top ten” state for jobs, personal income and a healthy economy,” said Doug Rothwell, BLM President and CEO. “We encourage citizens to arm themselves with knowledge about where the candidates stand on important matters, and share that information with their friends and neighbors. We hope all Michigan voters will turn out on August 2 to cast a vote for a New Michigan.” On BLM’s website, www.BusinessLeadersforMichigan.com/our-work/advocacy/, voters can view a chart which summarizes the level of support a candidate has demonstrated for the Plan to Build a New Michigan based on the candidate’s responses to a questionnaire or voting records from the 2015-2016 legislative session. Candidates in open primary races receiving a contribution from the BLM PAC include: Jeff Nielsen (20th), Steve Marino (24th), Pamela Hornberger (32nd), Bronna Kahle (57th), Ryan Gallogly (72nd), Thomas Albert (86th), Jim Lilly (89th), Scott VanSingel (100th) and Daire Rendon (103rd).
